ECCC 13: DC Comics Announces TRINITY OF SIN: PANDORA Ongoing Series

The mysterious 'pink lady' gets her own series this June.

Since the final issue of FLASHPOINT and all the first #1s of DC's New 52 comics, we've been wondering who Pandora is, the mysterious pink lady. We've had a few glimpses of her, particularly in last year's New 52 FREE COMIC BOOK DAY issue. With the Trinity War event coming up, our need for questions has increased. Looks like this June we may start getting more answers.

Today at Emerald City Comicon, DC Comics announced a new ongoing series beginning in June -- TRINITY OF SIN: PANDORA.

No Caption Provided

The series will be written by Ray Fawkes and feature art by Daniel Sampere. Fawkes has become attached to more and more DC series including CONSTANTINE.

We'll have to wait for more information about the series and what we could expect.

Well, I for one find her to be quite an intriguing character, and I believe she has a lot to offer, so...why not?

@JamDamage: let it be then. I honestly feel that these characters have something unique and better to offer than a repeated skill set. Barry Allen and Wally West are basically interchangeable. Thats my opinion ofcourse and I don't think it makes me look ridiculous.

Jade is officially deleted from the DC universe. She is after all the daughter of what is now a gay hero. So, odds of him siring Jade and Oblivion are pretty much nil. On that list, most of the characters simply can't support their own book. Hmm, you know, Doomsday, Dasaad, Parasite... you're big into villain books it seems and they simply do not sell. Still, I agree with the sentiment, many characters more deserving of their own book than Pandora. I rather prefer her as the enigmatic entity that shows up but can't pin down. I feel they've made her way to personable. Not likable in any way mind you, so, really not going to support her own book unless there's serious changes being made.

This will be about as good as the phantom stranger book they've got going. So, bad.

It kills me that they made the Question into one of these divine nonsense nobodies.

Geez, I wanna get this and I most likely will but darn...is this way of DC saying they want me to drop my other monthlies from other publishers? Seriously between all Ig et now and Snyder's upcoming Superman series, etc. etc., darn, I'm stretching the green thinner and thinner! Pandora sure has come up in the world now, hasn't she? O_O

Who at DC is naming these books? just call it Pandora or call it Trinity of Sin. Jeez.

As far as the content of the book goes, I'm pretty ambivalent. I like Pandora so far, but I don't think she is a character that at this point I have any interest in following in a solo title. And it does seem weird that out of the Trinity of Sin members the only one without their own book is the one who is probably the most popular.

Has anyone here thought that the central premise isn't just a modernization of Mythology but a total rip off of Avatar Comics Wargodess? Hello folks, does anybody here read anything but DC/Marvel?

They took one of their few remaining pulp characters and made him instantly forgettable by throwing him in with these two. It's the opposite of everything that made him cool.

I have no complaints or likes on the book. I may give it a shot. My only concern is, Pandora really hasn't been developed enough yet to test the waters and see if she can carry a series. Okay, blast me for wanting DC to test the waters first to see if the popularity is there before investing money in a another series that may not succeed. For this reason I think they are better off with established characters simply because they have a better idea who those characters will perform in the market. If you want to use Pandora, that's fine but, try her out first. I know...I know... she had a filler in the back of justice league... oh, and she had a few appearances in phantom stranger so clearly we're all good. Still, I want Wally West... I want Stephanie Brown... so many others before this character.

If folks buying what amounts to a past-time and demanding that the books represent the characters they've invested in as a result of their spent capital and subsequently makes you feel less inclined to respect your fellow man as a result of this - you might want to re-adjust your sight picture.

I am all in favor of this book - should be compelling and information packed for how the powers will ebb/flow within the DCU. I also have empathy for those folks whom desire a title for characters they have substantial emotional or monetary capital invested in.

Your bleeting at folks for their reticence to accept something new in the place of something more familiar is akin to yelling at the sun for coming up. People are likely still raw over what titles got axed as the New 52 was ushered in - and berating them for their emotional support for those things they enjoy is the wrong answer.

I'm glad you're a young hipster who wants to extol the virtues of the 'Bohemian life'. Truly, that is great. Meanwhile, at the halls of Justice - folks still like what they enjoyed yesterday and asking for it when they spend their money to get it isn't a negative reflection upon the innate characteristics of mankind.

So they cancelled three of the series I'm following, and continue to announce replacements I have no interest in. Fantastic.

Because its all about you. Lol

There is no direct correlation between a book being cancelled and a new one starting up. I.E-They are not cancelling Death Stroke to make room for Pandora. They cancelled it because of poor sales and interest. There will always be an ebb and flow of new books to the lineup, to appeal to the wide array of readers out there and introduce us to new characters other people besides yourself might be interested in.

What Loki said. Though I do have some empathy for - it's ultimately disheartening when a title you've been following for over 10 issues gets canned with little to no warning or real way to save it.

So many of you are acting so hilariously childish. Like it's somehow this books fault that you aren't getting what you want. I'll pick it up and hopefully enjoy it immensely. I'll gladly support DC giving a new character a shot to hold her own book.

Two more. Or three if Snyder's Superman isn't part of it.

There were eight cancelled.

Then we get the Movement and Green Team (2)

Batman/Superman, Larfleeze, Pandora (5)

Snyder/Lee's Superman book? (6)

Two more.

I hope the next two would be Booster Gold and Red Robin

@Ravager4: hi ravager4!

It might be a idea to try this if one of your comics was cancelled. I will be getting this. None of my titles have been cancelled (yet), but I am going to use this to replace my Green Lantern comic now that Hal Jordan has lost the lead.

Its best not to get too attached to comics, not even the ones with our favorite characters because no writer or artist could ever come close to doing the legend that we have for them in our mind any justice anyway. Just treat comics like a que: one goes in, one comes out.

Good luck with your comic reading:-)

Was anyone asking for a Red Robin, Cassandra Cain Batgirl or Martian Manhunter book before they had their first ongoing? All the characters people are asking for already had their chance before. Why kneecap the new guys? Otherwise, why introduce new characters if all people want is the same old stuff created decades ago?

Yes they were, those characters were well established before they got a shot, same cant be said for Pandora and the other crappy characters getting their own ongoings.A lot of these ongoings have flunked and were cancelled merely months after they debuted,I give Pandora 12 issues before she bites the dust.
