Dustin Nguyen and Derek Fridolfs on Upcoming Batwing Arc

@DMC: actually the reason why some of the characters enlisted in batman inc. have non-bat themed characters is because they were already heroes being recruited. Batwing on the other hand was simply david zavimbe(hope I spelled that right) and everything he has was given to him by batman.

And the name I think its personal preference I like it, but I do get your point when you say it could've been better if they added a bit of african influences to it

.....though this series might be great (not reading it), I just can't get past how odd this character feels to me. His design reminds me of a Bat-themed Iron Man and his name is just as bad as Black Bat....

I get that he's part of Batman Inc but he'd work better imo if his name and costume was more unique and fit his culture (maybe). Plenty of Batman Inc characters have names and costumes that aren't bat-themed.

Anyway....as a Batman character I'll bet DC will put more effort into keeping this title alive.

@imblackjames: I wasn't happy when DC chose Batwing as the Batman Inc character to get his own title, until I read it. Great character. Love Ben Oliver's art.

Glad I was wrong about the comic and gave it a chance.

thats awesome!!!! Im a huge fan of batwing i thought his comic was going to be garbage but im so glad i stuck with it...its one of my favorite of the new 52!!

In a nutshell, we know we screwed up with this book, from artists not making deadlines, to the story just being flat out uninteresting at all but we still want your money and will fight for it by putting the whole damn batman universe in this book and taking the book back to gotham city instead of africa or whatever the hell the setting was supposed to be since there were never any backgrounds in the book to begin with.

Meh. I'm good.

I'm still going to like the art, but I'm so used to the current art in the series being so good that something new may be weird. It will take some getting used to I think.

Would be more complete with Batwoman and Red Robin I say, but still, that looks AWESOME.

Tim is busy with the titans and we're not sure of how his relation with Bruce is going, maybe he wants to do like Nightwing did and don't go running to batman

Guys, guys; this cover and the story information of the solicit have been up for a month. We need to focus on the important part of this announcement, DUSTIN NGUYEN. How am I the first person to mention that in a comment on this post? That's the main point of this article.

I've been missing this guy's art on interiors since Streets of Gotham was canceled. AND HE'LL BE DRAWING GOTHAM AGAIN!

In the Justice League International solicit for April it looks like Batwing is joining the team. (Possibly as a replacement to Batman.) I hope so. It could help draw some attention to the Batwing ongoing.

I'm not reading Batwing, but you'd think that with ALL OF AFRICA you would have more then enough room to tell stories without having to cram yet another Batman into Gotham. @GarryDH said:

I see complaints about Red Robin & Batwoman but nobody cares that Red Hood is missing! :) Jokes aside, I would think that if his enemy had any brains the last place for him to jaunt to would be Gotham City.

I was thinking the same thing! When I saw that he was teaming up with Batman in issue 5, I was like this is going to make him look bad and that can't do anything on his own. I mean Massacre is just a man with a Machete it shouldn't be too hard to take down. Batman fights Zasz all the time so he could take Massacre on his own.
