Deathtroopers: A Star Wars Horror Novel?

Star Wars is really going to the dark side this Halloween...

I'm a huge Star Wars fan.  I used to be a really big horror fan (seems like the genre has died with the recent attempts).  But a Star Wars horror story?  Part of me says 'what the hell are they thinking' but another part of me is deeply interested.  I saw this today at Topless Robot and thought it was just a hoax.  Turns out it's also on StarWars.com.  All they have is the cover image and the release date of October 27, 2009.  They don't even have the back cover information.  Weird.  I haven't really been keeping up with the Star Wars novels.  I've been trying to catch up.  When this comes out, I just might have to make time to read it.

Is this a good idea to mix the two genres?  Is it blasphemy to incorporate brutal mutilation into the Star Wars universe?  Will they use this to explain why Jar Jar wasn't in the original trilogy?  Will only the Stormtroopers be hunted and killed?  I need more information!
