Deadpool vs. Carnage Coming in 2014

Get ready for some action-packed madness. Come see when the limited series will drop and who the creative team is.

Despite fighting symbiote dinosaurs in the final issue of CABLE & DEADPOOL, the Merc With a Mouth and Carnage have never actually faced-off. Well, Cullen Bunn is about to rectify that. Come April, the writer and artist Salva Espin will release DEADPOOL VS. CARNAGE, a four-issue mini-series. Chatting with IGN about the book, Bunn says the series will take place in the primary Marvel universe but you don't need to read Deadpool's other stories to feel in the loop. However, when it comes to Carnage, Bunn stated the series "is a progression of everything Carnage has been through." IGN posted the first cover and a look at some uncolored pages from the first issue.

As for the plot, the writer told IGN the two lethal leads will share a link. "Maybe these two aren’t as unrelated as we think, because there’s a connection between them that allows Deadpool to track Carnage like nobody’s business. And since Wade’s the only person who can follow the trail of blood Carnage leaves behind, he feels obligated to take the psycho-killer down."

Viners, are you going to purchase DEADPOOL VS. CARNAGE #1 in April?

Probably just the artist's style.

I love the idea, and it should be hugely entertaining, but all things considered Carnage should manhandle Wade haha.

Yes marvel, just take all my money why don't you?

Woaw, sounds fun.

I'm seeing Cassidy being very annoyed at how he's unable to kill Wade.

"WHY WON'T YOU DIE?!?!?"

Seriously, Wade is like a serial killer's worst nightmare. Not only will he just not die under normal circumstances, he'll just keep talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking, and talking.

I'm all over this. But I'm afraid that the character chemistry will be too off-putting. Seeing as one is light-hearted and comedic for the most part and the other one is well.. a serial killer and rapist. Even though deadpool has dealt with people like that before, I don;t think there has ever been one as intense as carnage. at least as far as i've read carnage.

awesome !

Oh boy comedy will ensue :)

Looks sick. Carnage looks pretty lame on the cover though.

@smart_dork_dude: Per the recent Superior Carnage, Cassidy is no longer Carnage.

Posted by cerial442

I'll pass. I don't like the way Bunn writes Deadpool. The Deadpool Kills The Marvel Universe was one of the worst comics I've read.

I find it very cathartic that in a time where the Avengers and X-Men sides of the Marvel Universe are supposed to be melding together, Carnage a villain from the Avengers sides of things who's only appearances in the last few years have been in the form of miniseries and Deadpool a guy who's history is very closely tied to the X-Men and also has a fetish for miniseries are having a crossover miniseries.

I so want this!!!! It is decided ......I'm getting this!

@smart_dork_dude: Per the recent Superior Carnage, Cassidy is no longer Carnage.

so who is carnage? I heard something like it's the Symbiote itself with control over Cassidy is that true?

Posted by KryptonSabbath

I like the idea, but that cover is very off-putting for some reason...

Agree.

Edited by Lordhuck

Carnage would slaughter Deadpool.... Carnage is more than a handfull for Spiderman.

@theamazingimmortalman: but in the new superior carnage annual cassidy is carnage again.

so Cassidy is still Carnage and not the Symbiote with complete control over him? I'm trying to understand because I did not read superior carnage.

Posted by frogjitsu

Salva Espin. Just came across the Exiles series he worked on a couple years back, and was wondering when I'd see his art again. Now I know.

Posted by BattheMan008

Yes, I'll buy this.

Posted by CF12793

This is a 90's comic fanboy's wet dream. I'm interested in it being "a progression of everything Carnage has been through." Does this mean Wade might kill Cassidy? I know it seems impossible, but if written well, I think this could be an interesting development.

But he'd come back.

Posted by orangelantern93

yessssssss!!!!!

Great matchup!

Posted by AverageInsanity

A red neck with a killing fetish vs a mental insane mercenary. Sound interesting. I mean I guess

Posted by CyberWarrior

REALLY lookin' forward to this.

Posted by Teerack

And so continues the saga of "Lets have Carnage fight everyone that kinda resembles Spider-Man"
