DC Comics/JUSTICE LEAGUE Valentine's Day Contest

Because DC loves you, find out how you can win some free comics.

It's Valentine's Day. You may have seen our poll for the best comic book couple. Now we want to give you the chance to win some free comics.

DC Comics has a copy of the latest JUSTICE LEAGUE hardcover (volume 2) and a copy of YOUNG ROMANCE: THE NEW 52 VALENTINE'S DAY SPECIAL to send your way.

No Caption Provided

This is where the big kiss happened.

The YOUNG ROMANCE special was released last week and contains several stories of looooove. As a bonus, it also contains several Valentine's Day cards. While the winner won't get them in time to use this year, you can always hang onto them for next year!

How can you win?

There will be one winner, selected at random. All you need to do is tell us what you think about Superman and Wonder Woman as a couple now that it's been a few months since we've seen that kiss. How long do you think they'll last as couple?

The bad news is, because we operate out of the United States, this contest is open only to those in the United States.

Here's all the legal mumbo jumbo:

Eligibility: Comic Vine Giveaways (the "Giveaways") are open only to individuals who are legal residents of the fifty (50) United States (including the District of Columbia) and are 18 years of age or older. Employees of CBS Interactive, its advertising or promotion agencies, those involved in the production, development, implementation or handling of a Giveaway, any agents acting for, or on behalf of the above entities, their respective parent companies, officers, directors, subsidiaries, affiliates, licensees, service providers, prize suppliers any other person or entity associated with Giveaway (collectively "Giveaway Entities") and/or the immediate family (spouse, parents, siblings and children) and household members (whether related or not) of each such employee, are not eligible. Subject to all federal, state and local laws and regulations. Void in Puerto Rico and where prohibited by law.

Sponsor: The Giveaways are sponsored by Comic Vine, 235 2nd Street, San Francisco, CA ("Sponsor").

Agreement to Official Rules: Participation in a Giveaway constitutes entrant's full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor, which are final and binding. Winning a prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein.

Entrants acknowledge and agree that the Giveaway Entities may have developed or may in the future develop ideas that may be similar to entrant's submission, that any such similarity shall be coincidental, and that entrant shall have no rights whatsoever in or to, and the Giveaway Entities shall have no obligation to entrant for the Giveaway Entities' use of, any such ideas.

Entry Period: The start and end times/dates (the "Entry Period") are located on the applicable Giveaway page.

Giveaway Entry/Submission: Follow the directions on the applicable Giveaway page in order to submit an entry. The use of any agencies or automated software to submit entries will void all entries submitted by that person.

Winner Selection: Winner(s) will be selected via random drawing. The odds of being selected depend on the number of eligible entries received. Potential winner(s) will be contacted via private message and will be asked to provide their first and last names, age and mailing address. If a potential winner does not respond within the timeframe stated in the notification p.m., the Sponsor may select an alternate potential winner in his/her place at random from all entries received during the Entry Period.

Requirements of the Potential Winners: Except where prohibited, the potential winner(s) may be required to complete and return an affidavit of eligibility and liability/publicity release (the "Affidavit/Release") within seven (7) days of being notified. If a potential winner fails to sign and return the Affidavit/Release within the required time period, an alternate entrant may be selected in his/her place.

Prize(s): The prize(s) are located on the applicable Giveaway page. No cash or other substitution may be made, except by the Sponsor, who reserves the right to substitute a prize with another prize of equal or greater value if the prize is not available for any reason as determined by the Sponsor in its sole discretion. The winner is responsible for any taxes and fees associated with receipt or use of a prize.

General Conditions: In the event that the operation, security, or administration of the Giveaway is impaired in any way for any reason, including, but not limited to fraud, virus, or other technical problem, the Sponsor may, in its sole discretion, either: (a) suspend the Giveaway to address the impairment and then resume the Giveaway in a manner that best conforms to the spirit of these Official Rules; or (b) award the prize at random from among the eligible entries received up to the time of the impairment. The Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Giveaway or to be acting in violation of these Official Rules or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. Any attempt by any person to undermine the legitimate operation of the Giveaway may be a violation of criminal and civil law, and, should such an attempt be made, the Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. The Sponsor's failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision. In case of a dispute as to the owner of an entry, entry will be deemed to have been submitted by the authorized account holder of the screen name from which the entry is made. The authorized account holder is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, online service provider, or other organization responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address.

Release and Limitations of Liability: By participating in the Giveaway, entrants agree to release and hold harmless the Giveaway Entities from and against any claim or cause of action arising out of participation in the Giveaway or receipt or use of any prize, including, but not limited to: (a) unauthorized human intervention in the Giveaway; (b) technical errors related to computers, servers, providers, or telephone or network lines; (c) printing errors; (d) lost, late, postage-due, misdirected, or undeliverable mail; (e) errors in the administration of the Giveaway or the processing of entries; or (f) injury or damage to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from entrant's participation in the Giveaway or receipt of any prize. Entrant further agrees that in any cause of action, the Giveaway Entities' liability will be limited to the cost of entering and participating in the Giveaway, and in no event shall the Giveaway Entities be liable for attorney's fees. Entrant waives the right to claim any damages whatsoever, including, but not limited to, punitive, consequential, direct, or indirect damages.

Disputes: Except where prohibited, entrant agrees that any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of, or connected with, the Giveaway or any prize awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by the appropriate court located in the Commonwealth of Virginia. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, entrant's rights and obligations, or the rights and obligations of the Sponsors in connection with the Giveaway, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules (whether of the Commonwealth of Virginia or any other jurisdiction), which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Publicity: Participation in the Sweepstakes constitutes Winner's consent to Sponsor's use of Winner's name, likeness, picture, portrait, voice, opinions, biographical information and state of residence for promotional, publicity or advertising purposes worldwide in any media and on the World Wide Web, in perpetuity, without further payment, consideration, review or consent (where allowable).

The contest begins right now and ends Monday, February 18, 2013 at midnight PT. The winners will be announced and contacted afterwards, most likely on February 19.

I don't hate it. It's actually been handled really well in Justice League with Clark and Diana really getting to be themselves. However, we all know Clark is meant to be with Lois. That said, I really don't like how Lois has been portrayed in the New 52. So.....pass?

I actually like the idea! I'm glad Geoff Johns is willing to tread new territory instead of the same old "Clark and Lois" deal. I don't think this pairing will last more than 2 years, if only because there are enough vocal fans of the classic pairing to pressure DC to revert to the way things were before. That said, I hope I'm wrong, because I think the two of them are very cute together and complement one another quite well.

This isn't my favorite couple in comics, but it does make some sense. I really wish DC would do a story on an accidental pregnancy. Like Supes and Wonder Woman have a kid and she hides it from him because they break up and he gets with Lois. Then the kid rebels or something like that. Marvel usually goes the trashy route so I doubt it'll ever happen.

I like seeing them as a couple, I liked the scene in one of the recent JLA comics where Clark is trying to show Dianna how to hide with a secret identity. They aren't just connecting on being major powered heroes, they have so much more in common, its interesting to read.

Was it ever announced who won that Spider-Man book contest?

I really don't like Superman and Wonder Woman as a couple, like at all. It just doesn't work, there's no real spark between the characters and they don't seem to mesh well. It doesn't help that Superman and Lois Lane is such an iconic relationship that going against it will always feel sort of "wrong". It doesn't help that Superman and Wonder Woman seem to only be together because the writers think that two characters with similar power sets should bit shipped. Honestly the only time I sort of liked Superman/Wonder Woman as a couple was in Kingdom Come and even then that's because it felt a bit more organic and less of a wink towards fans who've wanted the two to be together.

I think it's a good progression of both their stories. It's been teased in the past or just one-issue stories that quickly were forgotten. After 70+ years of Superman and Lois, it's nice to have something new.

While I like the relationship, it's not so much because I am specifically a fan of SM/WW, it's more that I am a fan of Superman/NotLoisLane. I don't mind seeing them get together a couple of years from now, but hopefully we will get a few other relationships after Wonder Woman as well, because once they get together, that chance is sort of gone.

I like the idea because it's different from the normal writings and its something a lot of people want to see. Clark needs to be with someone who understands his own struggles and also help Diana with her's. It will make for some award moments with the League and after the break up and all. (I mean, Clark has to end up with Lois at some point.) It will be interesting how the whole thing plays out (who will break who's heart? Will it be because of Lois? Will the League have something to do with the break up?). I think the whole relationship will last about 20-24 issues with a few not really mentioning or dealing with the relationship. I think it would be nice to see them together in their individual comics like Action Comics or Wonder Woman or Superman but then again Geoff Johns isn't writing any of those.

I always liked the idea of the two of them together. Then again, I never really liked Lois much. She always seemed to be pushing Clark off to the side. Given that I identified with Clark a lot more than I identified with Kal-El, I never liked how dismissive Lois tended to be of him.

I never really liked Lois either, I always felt she just snubbed Clark and was only interested in him when she knew he was Superman. But then again I didn't read much of Superman pre-New 52, so I may have the "wrong end of the stick".

As a whole, I think it's an alright idea. Pairings with different characters could be much more interesting (either with Batman is awesome, for example, as evidenced by Justice League Unlimited and Apollo/Midnighter). But two of the most powerful superheroes hooking up could lead to some interesting events, so I do my best to keep an open mind.

Everyone hates change but the goal of the new 52 was to reinvigorate the characters (mainly superman), allowing for new stories to be told. This relationship is exactly a component dc was looking for. Instead of always having a damsel in distress Superman has someone who can match him, and charge into battle at his side as an equal. This creates a new dynamic someone Superman can relate with while at the same time clash with via there moral codes. People should open up more. The only complaint is that we haven't really seen much of this couple but hopefully the future will bring new energized stories.

Personally, I like the idea of the two of them together. I don't like the idea of a superhero falling in love with a non-superhero, because of how much havoc that wreaks with their secret identity. I mean, we all know the woes that Peter Parker has suffered due to being Spider-Man and still trying to have a normal life. How many times has he had to miss a date with Mary Jane, made Aunt May worry, or generally screwed up his social life? Too. Many. To. Count. This way, the two of them can love each other and still kick ass, not having to worry about where the other one is. SupermanXLoisLane has always bored me, and Geoff Johns has the opportunity to explore the characters of Diana and Clark, show both of these characters in a romantic relationship, and hopefully not fall back on things we've seen before (SupermanXLois).

A lot of my opinions of the character are held over from the Superman comics I read when I was younger, and most of them were quite old, from the 60's and 70's since those were what were around (my mom collected comics when she was really young and there were these boxes of old comics that I'd go digging through when I was little), and in all of those Lois was kind of awful to Clark in an lot of ways.

Not completely crazy about it, I was kinda digging Wonder Worman's relationship with Steven Trevor so I didnt see this coming. Hopefully this is not something that lasts for a long time, but if there are good stories that might change my mind.

I can't see them lasting very long, hooking two of the Big Three up just seems like such an easy match up that it'd be just as boring as Superman and Lois. Only diffidence is Wonder Woman isn't a journalist. DC will split them up soon, I would guess, send their separate ways. Frankly, I have always been intrigued by the idea of Wonder Woman and Aquaman shacking up, but he has Mera I suppose, who I do love so I would rather thy not get split.

Although the Superman and Lois relationship is iconic, I applaud DC for switching it up. This only adds to the altered story line and there is always room to revisit the Superman/Lois dynamic at a later date. We have plenty of time!

I think it's a cool twist that they're a couple now. Ivan Reis draws date scenes well. I don't know how long their romance will last, but something tells me this relationship won't make it out of 2013. If a break up does come, Superman better watch his back, as hell hath no fury like a (Wonder) woman scorned.

I think that it's great that Superman and Wonder Woman are together! I hope that this is the new status quo, and although relationships are flighty in comics anymore I do hope that these two remain together. It is nice to see Superman move on from Lois Lane because both characters need a relationship apart from each other. I love that Wonder Woman has been exploring Superman's life behind the cape and I do hope that Superman does the same with Wonder Woman! I even made a mug with Wonder Woman and Superman kissing for my wife on Christmas. I've been trying to convert her for a while. But overall, I just wish my wife would wear a Wonder Woman outfit for me, haven't convinced her yet, but, it'll happen. lol

No, this isn't correct in the slightest. Lois was already Clark's fiancee when he revealed to her his secret identity. He did it because he wanted the woman he loved to know everything about him.

I think that it is a bad idea for them to be in a relationship when they need to go into combat together. They shouldn't be watching each others backs while they should be watching someone even more important: Batman. He is the most important member on the team (and DC comics in general) and needs them both to protect him from super-powered foes while he eventually wins the day. It's all about focus. Batman is the focus.

I think it's good that Superman has found someone because Lois doesn't seem to be very interested in him. The same with Steve Trevor. The 2 would be good for each other because they can relate to one another and there can be some really good stories about their relationship. However, I do not think that it will last. I think that they will begin to have problems after the Trinity War. It sounds like there will be a lot of shades of grey in this event and a lot of people will be divided. I think that Superman and Wonder Woman could see different points of view during the event.

@SmashBrawler: Well like I said my info on Clark and Lois almost totally comes from a handful of Golden and Silver age comics, a few Modern ones and then New 52. So I figured there was a chance that I could be wrong.

There was also cartoons and movies but I figured they weren't exactly canon.

I would prefer they not be together, because every possible future where Clark and Diana end up together it usually turns out bad for everyone else. Just because they are two of the biggest characters doesn't mean they would be good together. Clark should be with Lois and Diana with Steve. The stories have been good though and it is interesting to see, but hopefully it doesn't last.

Mixed feelings. When I first saw Superman and Wonder Woman kiss I was shocked. I felt Supes would get back with Lois eventually but since the initial shock, the couple has been growing on me. If they're both happy with this relationship, then I say enjoy the ride for as long as it last to wherever it may go.

I think that Superman and Wonder Woman as a couple is Amazing! I have been waiting for this for as long as I can remember and I'm glad to see that DC is taking a chance on this.

I feel that Wonder Woman & Superman have a great deal in common and they represent ideals and that their adventures can also be lessons for real life, something you can take home with you, demonstrating that they aren't really gods but people like you and I with extraordinary and real world problems, choices, and sacrifices.

This relationship, that they share, offers another layer to the notion that they are just people at the end of it all and we all can relate to wanting someone who understands us from beginning to end, I feel that this is why they can work together so well.

That said, I also think that their differences will test their resolve as well, coming from vastly different cultures as well as the choices they make to handle and issue.

I don't mind the couple, but I like Lois and Clark better. I think if someone who doesn't read comics would be surprised that Lois and Clark have broken up and now Superman is with Wonder Woman. I just think that Lois and Clark is such an iconic relationship to forget about.

I say they last two more months, they get in an argument about the use of force. Within a year Clark is with Lois--the only relationship either should be in.

It's an okay relationship. Nothing new. As for how long they will last? I give it a year and a half at most.
