Daredevil TV Show and More Heading to Netflix

An epic AWWWW YEAH! I am a little surprised about Jessica Jones, though. I read all the time but up until about a year ago I didn't even know who she was. Let's see how it goes though. More than willing to give it a chance. Really excited about DD and Iron Fist. 2 of my favorite characters.

I would understand your complaint if this were going to abc, but it is not. Netflix spends 3-4 million dollars per episode on their original programming, which is much higher than most cable or network tv shows.

The soap operatic nature of daredevil, like game of thrones and boardwalk empire, works better on tv.

I'm loving all these new shows and movies coming in the future from MARVEL and DC! It's a great time to be a comic book fan!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes. I hope it isnt the same guys who are running Agents of Shield. That show has been lame so far IMO. I also found House of Cards kindof boring and Orange is the New Back very entertaining.

All of these comments complaining about needing to pay for Netflix are nonsense. What are you guys spending on your cable? I'm pretty sure it's more than 8 dollars.

I'm so freaking stoked. I love Marvel and all their movies but I'm sick of all the kid friendly stuff. I hope they are going to Netflix so they can get more violent. Let's see the darker side to this universe.(If they put them in the same universe as Avengers.) I would watch the crap out of a Heros for Hire show, just saying.

I hope that this will eventually see DVD release as well. I like to own physical copies. But seeing Daredevil in live action? My inner ten year old just fist pumped.

This is great and now I have a reason to sign back to my Netflix!! Now I just hope this risk doesn't take them into a danger because not too many people as Netflix as much as Cable or Netflix isn't available everywhere. Hopefully they can make appearances to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and maybe make a New Avengers movie.

It's great news, but they are not the Defenders. But it will be nice to see them team-up. I'm going to have to get Netflix. If it does well, it opens the door for more series. I may still get my Punisher series on HBO or AMC or FX yet. And we are still suppose to get Agent Carter on ABC as well.

Is this all set in the MCU? Because that would be even MORE awesome!

So is Jessica Jones going to just be in Luke Cage's show, or is she getting her own show? Either way, this is good news! :)

... Does anyone else think that them making a Daredevil series in 2015 will be a little awkward for Ben Affleck? I'm pretty sure the press-statement said that the Daredevil series will be coming first and I think Ben Affleck will probably be asked about it...

Some heroes are better meant for the big screen then the small screen. I don't know if they're going to approach these like they approach the movies or handle them like they've handled the current Superhero themed Television shows of now. I don't think "Agents of SHIELD" or "Arrow" are bad shows, but there could certainly be a lot more being done with them then what's currently happening.

Incredible news! This is exactly what i wanted them to with Daredevil and the rest of the MARVEL KNIGHT/street level characters. I think characters like Daredevil and Heroes for Hire work better as a tv series rather than a feature film.

MARVEL should leave the feature films for their Thor/Iron Man/Cap iconic characters, while the street levelers get their spot light on the small screen. I hope The Hand, Blade and/or Punisher cameo or show in these series too! Great news!

@br_havoc: I think Moon Knight would work really well in an episode of Daredevil. I'd imagine them using him as a darker edgier character that would sort of make Matt evaluate how he's handling crime outside the law.

Secret Avengers show would be great so would a heroes for hire.

At first I preferred that they did Runaways on television, but I think I'll be OK with this.

There is no way Marvel would let Daredevil be a muck-up in their hands - the fact that they only gained the rights back for the character earlier this year and they're announcing a mini-series only a few months later goes to show their devotion/desperation to tell his story.

Ooohhh I just read the part that says ABC Television Studios will be co-producing the show, so all 4/5-series should be connected to the MCU :)

Netflix is worth every bit of the $7.99 a month. Even if you don't watch these shows it's worth it just being able to stream JL and JLU!

Unlikely. Whereas DC is somewhat ashamed of their characters, preferring to go all Batman Begins on 'em, getting as far away from the comic book crazy stuff as they can, Marvel tends to embrace it wholeheartedly. So we'll probably get people and costumes almost torn from the pages of the comics.

Sweet! But why the hell is jessica jones getting her own series? All she's really done is get mind-raped by purple man and marry luke cage. Nothing against her, I just think that this is a little bit odd considering all the other female characters that deserve a show much more than her *cough cough* captain Marvel *cough cough*

Don't worry. Marvel has diversified they portfolio. For them superhero is just an aesthetic. Justice compare their Captain America political thriller to their space sci fi Guardians of the Galaxy to the mystic Dr. Strange.

Captain Marvel is more of a movie character. She would be too expensive to do right on tv. Jessica has a private eye angle for her series.

With Disney behind Marvel I'm worried.

I'd prefer if it was a movie personally. Have Heroes for Hire with Luke Cage, Iron Fist and Jessica Jones and then have Daredevil as a cameo in a after credits scene. Followed by the Daredevil movie and also the Punisher could show up. Then that would lead into a Punisher movie.
