'Daredevil' #501: The Devil's Hand
Written by: Andy Diggle
Pencils by: Robert De La Torre
Colors by: Matt Hollingsworth

This may just be one of the best Marvel issues I have read in a very long time. The first part of "The Devil's Hand" is our introduction to a new era of 'Daredevil,' one which he has the opportunity to become the leader of the most infamous assassins guild in the Marvel universe, 'The Hand.' In order to become their leader, Daredevil must kill an innocent man (their choice). Once the task is completed, 'The Hand' will be under Matt Murdock's control. So the question arises, when a decent person utilizes an evil organization to do good deeds, is it possible that the inherently evil tool has the ability to corrupt the hero? Additionally, can Matt Murdock really justify sacrificing the life of an "innocent" human being, in order to gain the respect of 'The Hand' as their leader? More importantly, will he go through with it?

Come on Marvel, stop making us wait so long for the oversized hardcover collections...

Indeed, I had to turn it way up as well.

" Daredevil has to be one of the best wrtten titles over the last 6-7 years starting with Bendis and Brubaker run. Both of those writers reveled in their indie comic roots that involved crime noir. The hand off from one writer to the next has been flawless thus far.  #501 is a benchmark because like Babs said Matt's guilt is weighed against the greater good. I agree with the dreadmaster, I believe the story was a little too conventional and a little predictable but its a great jumping on point for those who didn't collect Brubaker's Return of the King.  "
This guy knows what he's talking about.

It's been a while since your last video review. I think at least one or two hair style ago.

I wonder when they start changing the ideals of a character. They did that with Iron Man and it didn't work out so well. Normally, when a group tells you that you can join or lead, but you have to kill to join. That's normally your first idea that you might not want to join, but Matt is in a really bad place. If he doesn't take the role it could go to someone like Kingpin. Though does Matt think he can change them from within? will they tolerate a "soft" leader

Diggle honestly has to be one of my favorite writers, he does a fantastic job on all of these more "mature" stories.

I love reading Daredevil. Mature because of the story not because of gore.
