Now I hear that Rocket Raccoon is getting a title, Star-Lord now has a title, I hear there is an animated series in the works, and god knows what else I heard.

You know I would be all for this if we weren't already getting Star-Lord and Rocket Racoon. A little too much, sure they are underrepresented characters but I would rather have one good book than four okay ones.

When I was younger, I used to go to the little market in my town and buy random back issues for 25 cents a pop. Most of what I bought was the original GotG comics. Definitely looking forward to reading about their adventures again.

This looks awesome, actually! I remember digging the 90s series Jim Valentino did, pretty underrated stuff, a look at different characters and their possible legacis in the Marvel U. I always liked Vance Astro & Starhawk. And their ship was called the USS Captain America, which was pretty awesome. It was kind of like Star Trek meets the MU, and me & my best friend in junior high really dug that. I mean they had Rancor(super-psychotic descendant of Wolverine), Dr. Doom, a whole ton of Punishers, a planet of mutants, the Universal Church of Truth- it was pretty cool. Can't wait to see what Abnett does with this series. If only he were writing the main GotG book as well, instead of Bendis.

It's Weird because 10 Avengers books is fine, 14 X-Men books is fine but the Guardians getting more than 2 books? Gawd Marvel stop saturating the market >_>

The entire friggin' concept of the teams are nowhere NEAR similar,but hey,it has "3000" in it,so it must be the same.

I swear to god,I cry every time someone uses the "rip off" card,because the argument and reasoning just fails miserably.

A rip off? LOL you do know that Guardians is decades older than JL3000 right? Fail.

@jonny_anonymous: I've come to the conclusion many comic readers must be some sort of closet hipseter. It's cool when it's unpopular but if a company promotes it and pushes it because fans have wanted it then it's popular and deserves hate.

"Dumb franchise"? I actually like the GotG,and so do many other people. It's one of Marvel's most well-known franchises and one of the best in comics.

It's a rip-off of JL3000? Seriously? A team of clones/grafted people that can't get along is totally identical to this team....I mean,the 3000 almost made it too similar for me.....

And yeah,Marvel/DC and any company that has a movie coming up from one of their franchises would promote said franchise. That's called being smart,so...yeah...."great work"

I'm fine with the Guardians getting a bit more promotion, but I see the over saturation point. I just wonder why people are more willing to allow it for The Avengers, X-Men and Wolverine, who are basically most of Marvel's line.

The main complaint about the entire DnA Guardians of the Galaxy/Nova/Annihilation era and the main reason it ended was because Marvel refused to promote it. And now that they have rebuild the Cosmic line and gave the Guardians a few variants and everybody is crying.

I've seen people complain about Jonathon Hickman's run and how Original Sin "rips off" of Identity Crisis,with the only link being a mindwipe. When people say stupid things,I ignore them and their opinion.

Although I'm not saying that about anyone here,but people will always complain. Ever read Newsarama comments? Or any other forum comments on the web?

I DON'T like how they gave Star-Lord those horrible costumes in his run. Marvel/Bendis ruined Moon Knight and Guardians for me...

ARe you people seriously bitching about this when UNDERPROMOTION has plagued this team for years and has been the death of many great books? Finally the Guardians are getting some recognition and all people do is complain.

This is a different incarnation of the team.

But they are promoting the main team for obvious reasons (hint: movie coming out. The smart move that every company would do is promote said team)
