Cyberforce Vs Mighty Avengers: Fusion #2 Review

G-Man reviews the second issue of the Top Cow/Marvel Crossover event.

This is how crossovers should be done.  Who doesn't enjoy when characters from different publishers meet up?  Top Cow knows how to handle these events.  They manage to make the comic feel as if it exists in a single comic universe.  You also get douchey Iron Man getting some claw action courtesy of Ripclaw .

We haven't really seen the Thunderbolts in action.  That's when things could get really messy.  Lets' not forget Hunter/Killer.  There's still more to come.  Do you like the idea of inter-company crossovers?  Do you wish we could see more of these?

Is Cyberforce any use, i'm thinking of looking into them, are there any Graphic novels anyone can suggest? (ideally G.N.s since it's hard to get comics here in ireland. Don't get me wrong we have forbiddon planets etc. but back issues of most titles are pretty obscure)

I read the first issue of this and thought it was a great idea. The whole other dimension, alternate reality thing gets kinda old after awhile. But putting all these supers in one world, that is an awesome concept and I wish it was done more often.

Seemed like we were bombarded with a plethora of unnecessary crossovers during the 90's, and sadly, not many of them were any good.  Not saying I hate the idea, as you bring up a good point, G-Man; wouldn't it be great if all the publishers were able to operate their stories and characters within the same story universe?

It's a nice idea, but some companies' properties just wouldn't mesh within one story universe.  I don't think The Flaming Carrot would necessarily fit in with The Incredible Hulk, for example.  However, the Flaming Carrot DID crossover with a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle for 2 issues.   I use this as an example because if crossovers happen, I think it would be great that similar type of characters, i.e, super heroes, meet other super heroes that are at least a bit similar and not overtly opposite or nonsensical, like X-Men VS. Star Trek--WTF--was that one?

A lot of readers have often asked if Batman and Spider-Man   both live in New York City (yes, Bats lives in "Gotham" but you know its NYC), why don't they run into one another once in awhile? Granted, it's Marvel and DC, two separate companies BUT a lot of their characters are similar to one another, so why not?  Copyrights, licensing, lawyers, guns and money all prevent these things from happening.   It would be cool, but I think at the end of it all, we will get crossovers once in awhile and that is it.   Oh, this looks cool.  Too bad it couldn't be Ripclaw VS. Wolverine.

Oh, snap!!  I missed it too!  Pretty sweet, I'd always thought a crossover between these two would happen eventually, but never recalled seeing an issue.  Now there is one.  I'll be danged!

Thanks, G-Man, I don't care what the girls say about you, you're all right by me!
