No sooner had word dropped last week that Megan Fox officially wouldn’t return for TRANSFORMERS 3 then a fervent casting buzz began for her replacement. I do think it’s amusing that people don’t even know what exact role these ladies are going up to. It’s not clear whether she’s going to be playing Mikaela Banes or an entirely new character. Last week, word from an insider source floated out that PRINCE OF PERSIA-star Gemma Arterton was the front-runner. Today, Geek Week’s saying that it’s Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, a Victoria’s Secret model who’s currently dating Jason “The Transporter” Statham. I really hadn’t heard of her before this, but she’s been in the biz for five years, now, and seems to have modeled for basically every major fashion mag and clothing line.
I don’t know what these is to comment on about here aside from whether anybody thinks she looks the part. We don’t really know what the next TRANSFORMERS movie’s even going to be about (except that the Twins definitely won’t be returning.) While I’ve seen Huntinton-Whiteley pop up before in these casting discussion, I don’t think fans can be totally positive about any of this until there’s an official announcement. In the meantime, there’s always room for discussion, right? Would you prefer this girl over Megan Fox? How would Gemma Arterton rate as a replacement in relation to them?
