Oh man… I hope they’re only talking about one of the locations here. SHH is saying that the WB’S aiming to film BATMAN 3 in New Orleans next April. While I have no problem with the Big Easy, I’d be mighty disappointed if they ended up having that city double for Gotham in this flick instead of my home town, Chicago (which they’ve been using so well up until now.) GREEN LANTERN, of course, just finished shooting in New Orleans, so I imagine the studio must’ve been impressed with what they found there. Perhaps they're offering a better tax break. If that’s the case… then you need to get on this, Daley!
Then again, seeing as how Bats has been all over the world in these movies, it could just be one location he travels to.
SHH also included an update of the shooting dates/locations for the rest of the upcoming superhero movie slate. For all you globetrotters, it breaks down a bit like this…
- London - - CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER & X-MEN: FIRST CLASS (happening now)
- New York City - - MEN IN BLACK III (starting next week, ending in May)
- Romania/Turkey - - GHOST RIDER: SPIRIT OF VENGEANCE (starting November)
- Los Angeles - - AMAZING SPIDER-MAN (starting December) & THE AVENGERS (starting February)
Bringing it back to Batman, Morgan Freeman recently talked to MTV about movie #3 while promoting RED. == TEASER ==
His comments clarified a couple things that fans have usually missed when talking about these movies. First, despite the two or so years of speculation, it was patently obvious to all involved that Nolan would return with everybody to do a third movie. It was the second highest-grossing movie of all-time. Somehow, it was going to happen. Second, the actors are often the last people to know about what it’s going on with the plot. Freeman admits to knowing about as much about who the villains are going to be and who’s going to play them as the rest of us.
Anyway, hear it from the man himself below…
