Definitely the Infinity Gauntlet or UN...both are really lame.

LOL. When I read your comment, for a second I thought you were talking about the United Nations before I realized you meant Ultimate Nullifier.

Hmmm, my first thought was the ultimate nulifier as well.

Closer runner up has gotta be Batman's utility belt.

@arturocalakayvee: I've been thinking about this for a while now, and I've come to the conclusion that the big two are stuck in the 90s.

I love them both - controversially, I really enjoy the New 52 and Marvel NOW! - but they're doing a lot of things tried and tested in the 90s that don't really hold up. DC did a universe-wide reboot in 2011... okay, fine, there've been reboots for ages, but many of the costumes, storylines, origins and the picking and choosing of old story arcs that they wish to retcon or include (there's no clear timeline: some things are left unchanged from the old timeline, and others have been changed for no reason) all scream 1990s.

And then there's Marvel, who keep constantly doing crossovers and events, and having tons of variants covers that are becoming more and more expensive. Most infamously, at the moment anyway, they're doing weird things with Spider-Man (Clone Saga in the 90s, Superior now - I don't care how critically acclaimed Superior is, I find it really unsettling) and unnecessarily relaunching titles with every creative team change - why is there ANOTHER Fantastic Four renumbering when it only happened a year ago? And ANOTHER costume change? As I said, I love the comics and the characters, but they're both sticking with these notions which I feel don't work.

Just my thoughts.

@staypuffed: You're not the only one who has been claiming both companies are stuck in the 90's. I personally don't see it because I started reading in the 90's so I naturally think 90's stories are awesome. The stories now? I enjoy a lot of Marvels but I hate most of DC's…so for me, I don't necessarily see it but I totally understand where you're coming from.

@regishel: if you take the paper ones, issue five, if you take the smaller digital ones, chapter 15.
