June belongs to Moon Knight! He was voted as our Character of the Month and we've celebrated in a whole lot of ways. We've talked about his stories, artists, villains, covers, and much more. However, every week, we've also aimed to test his abilities as a hero. He's been able to defeat Green Arrow and Ra's al Ghul, so for his latest fight, we put him up against a very talented DC character: Black Canary. Would Moon Knight come out on top once again? According to the majority of voters, the answer is no! Black Canary has toppled the Fist of Khonshu!
59% sided with Dinah Lance and 38% supported Marc Spector. Only 2% thought this battle is too close to call.
Moon Knight's weapons, armor, pain tolerance, and skill have allowed him to beat his previous opponents from DC, but these factors weren't enough to overcome Black Canary's key advantages. First and foremost, she's incredibly skilled. Her hand-to-hand attacks are precise and thoroughly impressive. She's not going to simply engage Spector in a slugfest, she's going to be tactical and make sure all of her hits count. Her pain tolerance and reflexes are commendable, too.
Then there's ace up he sleeve: the Canary Cry. It wouldn't be in character for her to kill Marc with it, but if push comes to shove, she'll have no problem hitting him with the blast. It may not be easy to keep Marc down, but given her skill and damage output, it's something she can absolutely accomplish. It would no doubt be an entertaining fight to witness and Marc's one tough dude, but Dinah has the skill and means to take the victory. Now, let's see what some Comic Viners had to say about this brawl.

"I am going to side with Dinah here.
Both Moon Knight and Canary are skilled fighters but on a lot of occasions Canary has impressed me way more than Marc has ever impressed me. She has some pretty solid feats that put her as one of the best fighters in DC and she will give Marc Spector a helluva fight if they go h2h and even if MK uses ranged attacks she can dodge,it ain't something she has never done and cannot do again.
Also in the same time she possesses a great range weapon that gives her the advantage in this fight,the Canary Cry. A weapon that can put a person down,shatter bones or disorient people if they have armor,as Marc has in this fight. Basically the canary cry and her hand to hand skills give her the win here,a hard battle but she will win it."

"This is how I see it going down:
Since they start 15 feet apart Spector begins by throwing crescent darts (or using his flechette guns) to gauge Canary's skill. Although Spector is an amazing marksman, Canary is good enough and experienced enough to dodge pretty much all his projectiles, she may get clipped but nothing that will slow her down. Eventually she will close the distance and force Spector in to a h2h fist fight. This will be a bloody and brutal fight. Spector stronger, faster, more brutal. Canary skilled enough to counter that and make it work for her. Eventually Spector will go down... And yet he get's back up and they go at it again. Both combatants are battered and bruised but Spector is definitely more worse for wear and Canary puts him down again.. and yet he still gets back up.
By this time Canary will realise whatever punishment she can dish out, Spector will take it and just keep on coming and she can't keep going like this so she decides she's had enough and unleashed the Canary Cry. Spector does have his armor that will protect his vitals but it's not enough to save him and Canary will walk away from a broken and ruined Moon Knight thinking she's the winner. This is Spectors chance, this is what he was waiting for the whole time. While he lies crippled on the ground he takes out a crescent dart, ricochets it off the nearest wall and embeds it in Canary's throat. She coughs up blood and bleeds out on the street.
Moon Knight may be beaten, broken and ruined but he will take the win."

"I'm going to side with Black Canary here, and not just because she's a great character with even greater looks, but because I believe she got what it takes to bring the Moon Knight down for good.
She possess a powerful weapon, powerful enough to shatter objects, disorient opponents and as more recently revealed, even shatter skulls and liquefy bones, which she won't hesitate on using, from different distances, not only offensively but also as a defense to avoid being hit by the dangerous gear MK is packing. Dinah is also an expert martial artist, considered to be one of the seven best fighters in the DC Universe, something that can be proved with her combat feats and training with other top martial artists.
So basically, Black Canary possess superior ranged (through Canary Cry), something that her enemy can't properly avoid. He will get hit eventually, and even with his pain tolerance, the effects are devastating. Even if he survives the strike, he won't be on pair with her fighting skill, so she is pretty much covered on both ways. He will find himself in a fight he can't win.
As for Moon Knight's gear, Dinah is more than capable of dodging his strikes, not to mention the possibility to use her Canary Cry to fly.
That's the scenario I can picture in my mind, although having a strong and solid opponent, with high levels of pain tolerance and great gear at disposal, in the other side we have a top martial artist with the ability to scream the enemy away."
