Amazing Spider-Man #623

Jameson's in some trouble...again.

Spider-Man's luck continues to go against him. You can sense that something big is about to come down. While I like the art and colors, in some ways it doesn't feel like the Spidey stories I loved when I first started reading. Clearly things have changed in Spider-Man's world. Because of the new Vulture's presence, I didn't like this as much as other recent issues. I still am enjoying the overall arc.

Jonah Hex #53

What is Jonah Hex up to now?

Jonah Hex continues to amaze me each month. One of the reasons is (and I've said it before), I never really liked Westerns before. Palmiotti and Gray have somehow made me interested in Hex month after month. It's to the point that I'm seriously considering buying the old Showcase trades to see what Jonah was about when he was first created. Regardless of how you feel about Westerns, Jonah Hex continues to deliver.

Adventure Comics #8

Things are changing here.

Sterling Gates and James Robinson have really made me think about liking the Legion now. Maybe I never really gave them a chance before. I am looking forward to this arc and seeing the battle with Brainiac. While I would have preferred longer stories and didn't really care for the final story, I would recommend people pick this up to see what craziness Superman and co. are about to face.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer Season Eight #33

Find out all about Twilight...no, not that Twilight.

There really wasn't a lot that I thought was bad here. Since we only know "half the story," I'm really interested to see where this is all going to go. If you've ever enjoyed the Buffy (or Angel) TV series, you probably already know how great this series is. If you've never watched the show, you either don't know what you're missing or would simply have no interest in this. I really hope this all ends well but for now, it's an exciting trip.

I would actually give this a 4.5 out of 5

Justice League: Cry For Justice #7

Now that was quite an ending...

The death and the end really had an impact. I can see some calling them shock elements but the way they were written worked for me. I can't quite place my finger on what didn't work for me throughout this series but this final issue really made up for it all. I am actually looking forward to seeing how this will affect the character on the last page. Die hard fans might be in an uproar for a bit but I now have some excitement over seeing where this will all lead to.

Deadpool Team-Up #895

Somebody, make it stop!

I really like Deadpool but this comic is really making the character hard to enjoy. I keep hearing complaints about there being too much Deadpool and this is a strong argument in that case. I'm finding it really hard to want to pick up the next issue, regardless of who is set to appear. They say you can have too much of a good thing but this simply isn't good.
