'Comic-Con Episode IV: A Fan's Hope' Trailer Released

Morgan Spurlock and Joss Whedon give you a taste of what Comic-Con is all about.

Have you ever wondered what it's like to go to San Diego Comic-Con? Thousands and thousands go each year but not everyone gets a chance to make it out and see what it's all about. It's not just a regular comic convention, it is an experience.

Comic-Con Episode IV: A Fan's Hope is a documentary that got it's start a couple years ago. Morgan Spurlock's newest documentary is about to be released and yesterday he Tweeted that the first official trailer has just come out.

No Caption Provided

What is the documentary about?

Have you ever imagined a place where Vulcans and vampires get along? Where wizards and wookies can be themselves? Welcome to Comic-Con San Diego. What started as a fringe comic book convention for 500 fans has grown into the pop culture event of the year that influences every form of entertainment, now attended by over 140,000 strong. COMIC-CON EPISODE IV: A FAN'S HOPE- a film by Morgan Spurlock explores this amazing cultural phenomenon by following the lives of five attendees as they descend upon the ultimate geek mecca at San Diego Comic-Con 2010.

Check out the trailer:

It won't just cover the convention but will also focus on a few individuals to see the convention through their eyes.

Besides Spurlock's involvement, it's also executive produced by Stan Lee and Joss Whedon. It will be in theaters (an OnDemand) on April 6, 2012.

Wish I lived in America just so I could go to all these conventions.

The only thing I have over here (Perth, Australia) is Supernova...

I'm going to the London Super Comic Convention this weekend, I'm really looking forward to it, I have never been to a Comic Con before, though this looks like its actually about the comics as opposed to pop-culture.

@RedheadedAtrocitus: Congrats! Pictures. *hint hint* No man have a great time. A fan and overall nice person like you deserves it.

This looks good, at least I hope it will be. I don't know if it was this movie or another one I'd read that really mocked Con attendees and geeks in general in a bad way. Hope that isn't the case with this one we don't need more of that.

This looks amazingly fun. It's great to see a movie that shows how fun and innocent nerd culture can be instead of stereotyping and looking down on. Planning on going to the con in 2013! SO MUCH HYPE!

I have tried so many times to go to San Diego Comic-Con but have never been able to get tickets. I hate how hard it is to get in. They need a bigger place to put it in. I want to go so badly.

The advantages of being a San Diego native...(and being a CC attendee since '00) Im pretty lucky I still manage to go every year.

Im actually pretty hyped to see this movie. I know Con means many different things to many people, and its fun to relive alot of those moments I saw on film. I quite clearly remember the exact same footage of Stan Lee walking down the hallway past the Masquerade line, and we bust out in a loud cheering chant of "STAN, STAN, STAN," his personal parade of nerds dancing behind him. I also remember the "Designer" girl, and her Mass Effect entry for Masquerade...her team was nearly disqualified because their costumes were TOO good and professional to be armature made. Itll be interesting to see Comic Con through other point of views, rather then my organized chaos of things and shit to do, lol.
