Comic Book Question of the Week: Which DC Character Deserves a Feature Film?

What would be cool is to inovate and show things that are good but not what we've been seeing over and over. Marvel did good with Gardian of the Galaxie and somewhat ghostrider (but failled with antman). So I would suggest :

• Lobo
• Shazam
• Martian Manhunter
• Justice league dark
• Plastic man

But they should also explore there wildstorm/vertigo lisences because good jobs were done with V for vendetta, Watchmen, R.E.D. and somewhat good with Constantine and The losers. Maybe they could do :

• The authority
• Astro city
• Ex-Machina (but the rights have been baught)
• Planetary
• Robotech
• wildcats
• 100 bullets (but I think it's been picked up)
• Animal man
• DMZ (it's has been pick up for a tv serie I think)
• Doom patrol
• iZombie
• Preacher (but it's comming has a tv serie)
• Sandman (but I a movie is already going to be made)
• Y: the last man (I also think a tv serie is comming)

Wonder Woman movie in done like 300 or Gladiator fashion showing origin and leading to current world.

Wonder Woman needs her own movie, it would be a huge jump for DC to give The superheroin a movie. I agree that they shouldn't be like marvel, marvel movies are good until you start to think about how it could have been better. The dark night and man of steel where awesome, but getting rid of Bruce Wayne or replacing the person that play him wont make much in the superman vs batman movie or Justice league. It really wouldn't be a good idea to say they are in two separate universe either. A wonder woman movie done right will inspire little girls and help pave the way for other female superheroes.

Flash and wonder women would make great films and money for the studios...a suicide movie can be the ultimate action movie endless possibilities of missions

They should do the opposite of marvel. Start with The Justice League. then Everybody starts getting their own solo films. Idk about everyone else but im sick of origin movies.

Wonder Woman is the best choice for DC, to make. There is always talk of a movie for her but no plans ever get finalized in the end. They just bring it up get fans hopes up and then play the whole plans fell through gimmick. We need a Wonder Woman movie.

But the general audience didn't care. Didn't know who he was. Now we have people dressing as hawkeye, black widow, and getting excited for "Ant Man".

If Marvel has proven anything, it's that a good film can propel an unknown character, and WB should have already known that a well-known character won't save a bad film.

I think the best way to go would be Aquaman or Wonder Woman, personally. Both have something to prove. For Aquaman, it would be convincing people that the "Aquaman is lame" pop culture trope isn't true; for Wonder Woman, many need to be convinced that she isn't a man killing misandrist that some feminists would want her to be (though I don't think we have a problem with that here).

I'm guessing there'll be an overwhelming amount of calls for a Wonder Woman movie in the comments.

I'll be fine with any Justice League member as long as it's not another Batman movie. After MoS's sequel, they need to put his character to rest until the JL movie in 2017. Superman, too.

Aquaman. The general public really needs to see how bad ass he truly is. When I play as him in Injustice, other people are surprised that he can do things: "Aquaman is strong?". They have the technology to show a truly amazing Atlantis (if they did it right, think of how Asgard looked when you first saw it in Thor). They can really tell a great story of how he is torn between two worlds and not belonging to either one. There is a lot of potential with him.

@fodigg: Iron Man had been carrying his own series prior to the the movie, and was a very popular character to even casual comic book fans. He wasn't a household name like he is now, but he was still one of Marvel's top characters.

There was a time when people would have said the same about Iron Man.

@mcderpyson: What are you talking about? Man of Steel isn't in that pseudo-realistic world. They're already headed in the right direction.

@justthatkid: Wasn't trying to put anyone down, but no movies like that are gonna be made in the near future. I'm sure if superhero films don't get stale to the public, they'll start making movies for more obscure heroes, but right now it's not happening. Production companies aren't gonna throw huge tons of money and resources for characters that only hard-core fans know about.

I would enjoy an indie superhero film if it were possible...

Wonder Woman definitely deserves her own movie. She is a cultural icon and you would be hard pressed to find a woman who wasn't inspired by the tv show and wanted to grow up to be her. I mean... they gave Elektra her own feature length film and there aren't too many Elektra fans outs there... that i know of lol

Until WB/DC gets out of Nolan's realistic, no grappling hook Batman/no Bane venom/no Lazarus pits world (which makes many heroes, especially the more supernatural/magical characters such as Wonder Woman, too implausible to exist within), I got nothin...

Wonder Woman. If they really want to get out of Marvel's shadow in the movie industry, they need to make this, and make it right. The first major female super-heroine with a movie. They just need to make sure the tone isn't one of a superhero movie, but more like that of Greek mythology.

Also, right now, it feels like DC is just playing catch-up with Marvel, but what they really need to do is make this movie universe in their own way. We can't and shouldn't have a Cyborg movie that's like Iron Man, or an Aqua Man movie that's like Thor. It can't just be a bunch of individual superheroes in their own movies, followed by a movie where the heroes come together to take down an alien invasion or whatever. DC has to find a way to differentiate their universe from Marvel's. Superman vs Batman is a really great step in that different direction.

Wonder Woman all the way. The lady deserves.

Honestly I want to see an Aquaman movie most but I think it would be a better move for DC to do Flash or Wonderwoman next.

If they could find someone to portray Wonder Woman *really* well, I would want a Wonder Woman movie. I feel like if it was done right then it would be a really good movie.

The Green Lantern John Stewart... I mean why not?? He's a strong character, and he was popular in the Justice League animated series... Plus the movies need more diversity. And he's an established character.

I would love to see a Martian Man Hunter movie. I doubt it would happen though maybe a TV show where he sets the JLA to take on the Justice Leauge?

I think Zatanna would be the most fun one to make and would grab a lot more peoples attention since it's not solely superhero base
