I voted Venom, and it is by far my favorite book on the list. BUT, Scarlet Spider would be my second choice and I'm glad to see Kaine get some respect. He book is awesomely well done.

"All of the power, none of the responsibility", thats pretty sick! think im gonna start reading this series since it's getting a lot of praise, my vote was for "ultimate" tho

I wouldve voted for Scarlet Spider but honestly the whole Assassin /league thing lost me towards the end. Its weird since I really dug his interactions with the X-men but I just didnt care about the villains. I also felt his meeting with Superior Spider-man was a HUGE missed opportunity with sub par art.

On the other hand Superior Spider-man has only gotten better since the beginning so it earned my vote.

@bloxxeh: At least you actually mention the biggest complain about the book. Most defenders of Superior seem to gloss over it.

@theacidskull: Superior isn't that bad. Once you look past how much you want to blow off SpOCK's face, it's really good.

@kriminal: They have a graphic novel taking place before Dying Wish, due out in the spring I think. Probably to give Parker fans something until the return.

The writing has been consistently great (by Chris Yost the same guy who's writing Superior Spider-man Team-Up) the art has been up and down the first 6 issues were awesome as they were drawn by Ryan Stegman (also currently working on Superior Spider-man) the job then went to Khoi Pham who's style didn't really suit the series imo. Now though its currently Carlo Barberi and Reilly Brown who are on the pencils who are doing an awesome job thus far. Here's some scans if you're interested:

Is Scarlet Spider actually any good? I'm really surprised by this result! I actually think Superior is probably the best super hero comic on the shelves these days....

Haha! I said the same thing in the voting thread. Not that that's a bad thing, but it's a valid comparison. Yost is a really great writer, I'm just not that invested in the series.

When I voted Superior Spider-Man and Scarlet Spider where neck and neck. I like most of the Spider-Man titles. I don't care for The Superior Foes though.

For me its

4. Ultimate Comics Spider-Man
5. Superior Carnage
6. Superior Spider-Man Team-Up

I ended up voting for Scarlet Spider mainly due to the arc he had with Wolverine, that was awesome. I am still bummed Venom is ending. One of my favorite titles. He is going to show up in Superior and I'm curious to see what happens. & I am curious to see what happens to Miles in Cataclysm. SCARLET SPIDER BETTER NOT END!!! I BETTER SEE IT IN THE DECEMBER SOLICITS AND IT BETTER NOT SAY FINAL ISSUE!!!!

@k4tzm4n: I voted for Scarlet Spider, because of its cheap price (2.99 is a steal, and its even cheaper here in the U.K cause of the pound :) ), great art and solid story telling, which really reminds of JMS run with Spider-Man, which is the reason I got in Spider-Man comics, and comics as whole in general.

That being said, I probably pick up Venom once its over, I've been following it at arms length, and it's impressed me. Likewise goes for Ultimate Spider-Man.

Also most importantly, I hate to think what @strider92 would have done if Superior Spider-Man had beaten out Scarlet Spider for the win.

Also, I don't understand why Ultimate Comics Spider-man isn't first. Like really. It's the most well written of the bunch--by far in terms of interpersonal interaction, characterization, and character development. Scarlet Spider is written like a manga...

Funny enough, Scarlet Spider has not been breaking the top 100 over the last few months which is a sign that cancellation is looming right around the corner. Not sure if it will even make it to Christmas.

I personally voted for Superior Spidey but this result isn't that surprising given the quality of Scarlet Spider and the negative sentiments against Superior as a concept. I've only read a little bit of Kaine's book and I can tell it's good but it wasn't really my thing. I'll need to read it for reals at some point but right now I've got more than enough monthly and bi-monthly titles to keep me occupied. There are so few anti-villain books out there like Superior Spider-Man and I'm hoping stuff like Forever Evil can fill that some of that niche in the future.

@madeinbangladesh: For me its the best Spiderbook ever, but I have to say that I really dislike the main Spider-man universe since almost a decade. I longed for a good and somewhat darker take on the spider-man myth and thats exactly what I get out of Scarlet Spider. I wouldtake Kaine any day over Peter, as iconic as Peter may be.

@k4tzm4n: maybe you could send a link to this voting to the folks at Marvelto show them how much love there is for Kaine, so he don't press the cancel button too soon. I know that sales are still much more important than a small poll like that, but at least Chris Yost would like to see this.

i do. and i think it is very important in story telling. Dan Slott is a perfect example. Everything he has been doing is changing it up!

And this poll is the perfect example. Who was the first scarlet spider? Ben. It *changed* to Kaine. People like it. I like it. I like Superior Spider-Man. Its different. Its fresh.
