YEAY! SCARLET SPIDER!!! My favorite Marvel title with Avengers and Thor! Kaine is just one of the coolest guys in the Marvel U and I hope we get a long run out of this series! I love it!

Scarlet Spider has a cult following here on the Vine. I love it.

I happen to like them all, except Ultimate Spider-Man, because I never got into the Ultimate universe. But I had to vote for Superior Spider-Man because it's the only book I've been able to stay caught up on. I need to catch up on Scarlet Spider and Venom badly. And Foes and Team Up I am caught up on and like, but it's definitely not my favorite. I've been picking up Carnage but haven't even attempted to start it yet.

This is what Marvel is doing so well these days in comparison to DC, they're willing to go with different tones and reach different audiences. DC at the moment seems to be going for the same audience with almost all of their books having the exact same tone. But just look at this list of Spider books, each of them is so different from one another and because of that it grabs a wider audience, and that's exactly why a book like Scarlet Spider could be the winner of a poll like this. It's so different from the regular Spider-Man series (or most other comics out there) that it can develop a strong fan base and dig out its own unique niche on the comic stands. I love seeing that books like this are succeeding and I want to see even more of it.

Seriously from day one Scarlet Spider overwelmed the other titles and why shouldn't it. It proved again and again that it is a consistently good title.

@obscurefan i completely agree. i think thats one of the reasons why i am loving Marvel more is because you can read all sorts of books and they are all different. One of the reasons i dropped a lot of DC books is because i felt like i was reading the same book.

Yep I totally agree with the outcome of this pole, SS is by far the best.

We both know that quality=/=quantity, also we both saw the comments on the vote section. It seems SSM doesn't have loyal fans.

Of course and I never implied otherwise. What I'm saying is Scarlet Spider winning shouldn't be expected. Despite there being a very vocal opposition to Superior, there's still a very large amount of people who appreciate it and because of that, I honestly expected it to take the vote. Also, there are quite a few voters who don't comment. After all, there were almost 400 votes. Meanwhile, only 2 pages of comments.

i do. and i think it is very important in story telling. Dan Slott is a perfect example. Everything he has been doing is changing it up!

And this poll is the perfect example. Who was the first scarlet spider? Ben. It *changed* to Kaine. People like it. I like it. I like Superior Spider-Man. Its different. Its fresh.

@madeinbangladesh: For me its the best Spiderbook ever, but I have to say that I really dislike the main Spider-man universe since almost a decade. I longed for a good and somewhat darker take on the spider-man myth and thats exactly what I get out of Scarlet Spider. I wouldtake Kaine any day over Peter, as iconic as Peter may be.

@k4tzm4n: maybe you could send a link to this voting to the folks at Marvelto show them how much love there is for Kaine, so he don't press the cancel button too soon. I know that sales are still much more important than a small poll like that, but at least Chris Yost would like to see this.

I personally voted for Superior Spidey but this result isn't that surprising given the quality of Scarlet Spider and the negative sentiments against Superior as a concept. I've only read a little bit of Kaine's book and I can tell it's good but it wasn't really my thing. I'll need to read it for reals at some point but right now I've got more than enough monthly and bi-monthly titles to keep me occupied. There are so few anti-villain books out there like Superior Spider-Man and I'm hoping stuff like Forever Evil can fill that some of that niche in the future.

Funny enough, Scarlet Spider has not been breaking the top 100 over the last few months which is a sign that cancellation is looming right around the corner. Not sure if it will even make it to Christmas.

Also, I don't understand why Ultimate Comics Spider-man isn't first. Like really. It's the most well written of the bunch--by far in terms of interpersonal interaction, characterization, and character development. Scarlet Spider is written like a manga...

@k4tzm4n: I voted for Scarlet Spider, because of its cheap price (2.99 is a steal, and its even cheaper here in the U.K cause of the pound :) ), great art and solid story telling, which really reminds of JMS run with Spider-Man, which is the reason I got in Spider-Man comics, and comics as whole in general.

That being said, I probably pick up Venom once its over, I've been following it at arms length, and it's impressed me. Likewise goes for Ultimate Spider-Man.

Also most importantly, I hate to think what @strider92 would have done if Superior Spider-Man had beaten out Scarlet Spider for the win.

When I voted Superior Spider-Man and Scarlet Spider where neck and neck. I like most of the Spider-Man titles. I don't care for The Superior Foes though.

I ended up voting for Scarlet Spider mainly due to the arc he had with Wolverine, that was awesome. I am still bummed Venom is ending. One of my favorite titles. He is going to show up in Superior and I'm curious to see what happens. & I am curious to see what happens to Miles in Cataclysm. SCARLET SPIDER BETTER NOT END!!! I BETTER SEE IT IN THE DECEMBER SOLICITS AND IT BETTER NOT SAY FINAL ISSUE!!!!

Haha! I said the same thing in the voting thread. Not that that's a bad thing, but it's a valid comparison. Yost is a really great writer, I'm just not that invested in the series.
