As the Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to expand, it introduces more and more characters for us to fall in love with or it further cements our appreciation for a specific individual. This week, we wanted to know which cinematic hero (or villain) the Comic Vine community supports the most. Was it the charismatic Iron Man? The mischievous Loki? The goofy Trevor Slattery? No, no and most definitely no. It was absolutely a close race between a handful of people, but in the end, Marvel's super-soldier is taking home the #1 spot.
Honestly, who saw that coming? When the poll kicked off, two key characters took the lead: Iron Man and Loki. It seemed certain one of them would win and Chris Evans would just earn a respectable percentage. But votes for Captain America grew and grew and eventually, the First Avenger triumphed.
Here's the poll results. Keep in mind, 0% does not mean a character received zero votes. So many people voted that only a handful of votes for a certain option may not add up to 1%. In fact, the ONLY character to receive no love was Whiplash. Sorry, Mickey Rourke.
- Captain America 22%
- Iron Man 21%
- Loki 17%
- Thor 10%
- Hulk 9%
- Agent Coulson 5%
- Black Widow 3%
- Hawkeye 3%
- Nick Fury 3%
- Sif 2%
- Agent Carter 1%
- Odin 1%
- Pepper Potts 1%
- Trevor Slattery 1%
- Abomination 0%
- Darcy Lewis 0%
- Jane Foster 0%
- Maria Hill 0%
- Red Skull 0%
- War Machine 0%
- Whiplash 0%
Did you vote for Captain America and if so, why'd Evans earn your vote? If not, who deserved your support and why? To celebrate Cap's victory, don't forget to watch the teaser trailer for Captain America: The WInter Soldier a gazillion times or so.
