This February, the Best in the World comes to Marvel comics for the first time. Ex-WWE wrestler Phil Brooks AKA CM Punk is taking a shot at comic book writing now. Brooks is well-known for being a huge fan of comics books, as he's appeared on The Talking Dead, been vocal about his favorite comics on Twitter, and yelled "It's Clobberin Time" before he walked into the ring at WWE. Now, Brooks is taking a shot at writing stories on THOR: ANNUAL #1 featuring CHEW artist Rob Guillory.

Brooks and Guillory will be doing the 10-page back up story in the annual, and Brooks is extremely excited.

technically this is my first comic book writing assignment, and I’m writing Thor, which is pretty heavy. It’s not an independent. It’s not an offshoot story. I’m writing Thor, one of the Marvel heavy hitters... And I think we’re both almost looking at it like, “Man, if we never get another assignment from Marvel, then we have to write and/or draw as many Marvel characters as we possibly can!” And I think this kind of gives us the freedom.

While this is his first time writing a comic book, Brooks feels ready for the challenge.

I think I’m more suited for it just because I’ve been reading comic books my entire life. Wearing tights in front of thousands of people and kind of, almost play-acting...

While this is Brooks' first time writing a story, it's not the first time he's been involved with Marvel comics. Back in November of 2012, Brooks wrote the introduction to the hardcover collected edition of AVENGERS VS X-MEN.

Make sure to check out THOR: ANNUAL #1 from Brooks and Guillory, due to hit comic book stores on February 2015.
