I don't think it can be, I have my hopes up. Ed Brubaker read the script and said he to him it was the best marvel movie they have ever produced. Marvel is so happy with it that they're trying to get the Russo Brothers back again for the 3rd one.
Russo Brothers have created award winning TV shows. They're writing this off of a Eisen Award story run by Ed Brubaker, I hope to God it doesn't fail because you would have to try really hard to make it fail for it to fail.
Oh. My. God! That trailer is beyond awesome! Oh my... Oh man!! I seriously hope it will become successful at the Box Office. C'mon, guys! Spread the words! Now, I will have to stop typing this and re-watch the trailer again!
@captain13: Yeah, the Hawkeye fans are just going to accept a surprise death. If they're going to kill a member of the team they'll probably save it for The Avengers. The only role Fury played was assembling the Avengers. I don't see him as a needed character.
It's not like movie Hawkeye has that many fans or has contributed much. His death would motivate Black Widow. I don't really care either way. I'm just saying it's a possibility--especially since he's the only Avenger who hasn't popped up in a Phase 2 film yet.
Hence why it would be stupid to kill him, Hawkeye hasn't even been Hawkeye yet he was terminator Hawkeye which showed off some of his skills, but they still have to make the character shine. Add in that he's already going to be in Avengers 2 according to Joss with a much bigger role I doubt he's dead in Cap 2.
As for the the trailer, looks amazing. I only hope they can get people pumped with GotG the same way. Oh and Falcon looks awesome.
If this is the full cast, I would be totally happy. But I have to wonder if Hawkeye will cameo. He is a SHIELD agent after all.
I don't think so. Black Widow's usually more involved with Captain America than Hawkeye. Maybe they're planning a solo movie.
Or maybe he's the corpse in the trailer.
I was thinking that, but it seemed unlikely for him to be insignificant enough to not appear in the trailers, but die in the movie. Could be Fury or Bucky... or some unnamed agent.
If it is Hawkeye, maybe they want it to be a surprise? If it's Fury, then I don't think he's really dead. He's the type to fake his own death to go off the grid.
LMD anyone?
I really hope they don't introduce those. They make death cheap.

However, I'm trying not to get excited. The trailers for IM3 & Thor 2 looked fantastic (probably around the same level quality as this, maybe a little lower or higher), and they both sucked.

That's why they should not kill him yet. The only thing he did was almost sink the hellicarrier. Fury would almost motivate her.

@sithfrog: Yeah it could well be. Just seems a little strange they'd make it that obvious in the trailer, if that makes sense? Can't wait to see it though, the book was amazing.

Great to finally see a trailer for this movie that talks about the Winter Soldier instead of the ridiculously overused "Government = bad" part that nobody will shut up about.
Also I love the fact he's going back to his WWII costume,
I mean let's look at some of the images we've seen. In the costume he'll be wearing most of the movie, some show the paint on the shield being chipped and worn off until it's just a plain metal shield with a star logo on it. Then when he's gone back to his WWII costume(My favorite of his movie costumes), it's red, white, and blue again.
Steve's costumes and the damage to his shield could represent how he's been struggling to adapt and in the end decides to just stick to basics and the things that made him a hero. His WWII costume coming back into play could mean he's decided to stop trying to do things the modern way and is sticking to the tried and true methods that made him a hero in the first place. The new way isn't always the best way and heroes like Cap prove it.
