Normally, "Buy Me This" is all about things, for the most part, that we can't afford that are super-cool. This month, we've been at a lot of cons, and focused on cool, expensive items to buy there; however, by the time we got to C2E2, we noticed it was all the same vendors, so I decided instead of showing you things I couldn't afford, wouldn't it be fun to see what I actually bought? If you like haul videos, but a lot nerdier, without the video portion, and a bit of writing, this will be right up your alley!
Batman Black & White Statue: Sean Murphy
Batman Black & White statues are some of the coolest statues available because it takes the style of a particular artist and puts into statue form. This one I picked up was in the style of Sean Murphy, known for his work in PUNK ROCK JESUS and THE WAKE. This isn't the first time this cool statue has appeared on Comic Vine, though. It also appeared in Awesome Toy Picks as well.
Deadpool "Tacos" Shirt
T-shirts are always a big part of my con-going experience. I always pick a couple up. At C2E2, this incredibly ridiculous shirt caught my eye. In true Deadpool fashion, it makes little to no sense. However, it contains all the things I look for in a ridiculous shirt: pointless rainbows, flying, and giant, bold letter that has nothing to do with the actual shirt.
Galactus Puking a Rainbow Shirt
I didn't realize this until I started compiling all of this, but I purchased not one but two shirts with rainbows on it, It's really hard for me to pass up anything Galactus or anything with a character puking. Don't ask why. This was just such a weird shirt that didn't make sense to me, so I ended up decided to buy it.
Doctor Who Vinyl Figures
I'm a sucker for stylized vinyl figures and when I saw that Titans had put out figures for Doctor Who, I was on board, especially since there was one for every Doctor, and in some cases, there were variants. In total, there are 16 different figures in this set, so I picked two up. Here's what figures were inside.
I had a 6% chance of getting the same figure... Luckily, I think these toys are pretty dang cool, so I wasn't too bummed. Sadly, they cost more online than they did at the show. I'll just have to wait. (I really wanted a 1st Doctor and 7th Doctor)
Original Art: Issue 1, Page 12 of ARCHER & ARMSTRONG by Clayton Henry
For years, I've always wanted to own original artwork from a comic. More importantly, I wanted original art from a comic I like which has an artist I think is awesome. ARCHER & ARMSTRONG artist, Clayton Henry, just happened to be selling tons of his pages from the series and many of them at a ridiculously reasonable price. While there were a few amazing pages I really wanted, this one was in my price range and was a real memorable moment for me in the series, as Archer makes his way to the big city for the first time.
There you have it for the most self-indulgent Buy Me This feature yet. We'll be back next week with things none of us can afford.
