BUFFY's Drusilla Gets Her Own Spin-Off Comic

The Victorian vampiress gets her own five-issue mini series written by the actress that portrayed her on the television series.

Actress Juliet Landau will be venturing from the screen to comic books very soon when she lends her 'Buffy' experience to Dark Horse for a five-issue mini-series that will spin off from BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER. You may recognize Landau from when she played Drusilla on Joss Whedon's popular television series, and she will be reprising the role in the upcoming mini -- sort of.

Landau's upcoming five-issue mini series will focus on the character she portrayed, Drusilla, from 1997 to 2003 for a total of 17 episodes, and is one she is certainly very excited about getting the chance to explore once again.

"I think you will get different sides of Drusilla than have ever been seen before," Landau told EW.com, "It was an actor's dream role. There’s so much range and dimension and so many different colors to the character. It’s just really rife with possibilities in terms of where you can go. You can go to any era or any direction, really."

Landau will have the opportunity to explore the character even more and take her further than ever with the upcoming series. For those unfamiliar with Drusilla, she and Angel have a long history together. Drusilla's lived during the Victorian era in England and was driven mad by Angel before he ultimately turned her into a vampire. So how much of her character will be covered in this new series? The book will focus on Drusilla following issue #9 of ANGEL & FAITH and will feature art from both Cliff Richards and Tim Seeley.
