Here's a another bit I meant to report the other day. EmpireOnline posted parts of an interview with Sam Raimi from their May issue. Raimi has always said he'd like to do another "Evil Dead" movie or perhaps have someone remake it. Apparently there has been some work on it. It seems that Bruce Campbell will return as Ash.
We've got nine pages so far. Every time I'm with my brother Ivan, we write another page of it. It's in Detroit and in my garage.
"There's some dialogue. Ash being an idiot. Ash taking some abuse. Some character stuff and then some structure of Act Two. Just other possibilities for things that could happen. It's ideas, jokes, things we'd like to see."
I also recall reading somewhere that Raimi wanted to make Bruce Campbell work out to and stay in shape. Doing another "Evil Dead" movie would force him to do so.
Do you think another "Evil Dead" movie would work? The last movie "Army Of Darkness" came out in 1992. (Trivia note, the movie originally was going to be called "Medieval Dead," get it?) That was seventeen years ago. Since Raimi will be working on "Spider-Man 4" and the script for "Evil Dead 4" hasn't even been completed, when would filming start? Either way, I'll be waiting for it as I have been all these years.
