Brad Pitt Signs On To Produce 'Vlad The Impaler' Film

Had enough of vampire movies yet?

I guess the 'Twilight' fever has erupted and is at an all time high; either that or people simply cannot get enough of the vampire movie genre! According to a recent report from the Hollywood Reporter, actor Brad Pitt will be sinking his teeth into an upcoming vampire flick as a producer and the film will be an adaptation of the classic ' Dracula' character.

The script, written by Charlie Hunnam, will be produced by Summit Entertainment, the same company behind the 'Twilight' franchise. This vampire tale, however, will be a completely different take on the genre and will center around Prince Vlad the Impaler, "the man behind the Dracula myth."

With "Vlad," Summit hopes to make a visually edgy and radical period movie that also will break a new talent.
According to the report, music video director Anthony Mandler approached Summit with a reel  not too long ago which left movie execs really impressed.
Mandler is a music-video director who has worked with Rhianna (helming 10 of her videos), the Killers and Eminem. Execs were wowed by the reel he prepared, which drew comparisons to Zack Snyder and his work on "300"; Summit tried to land the latter project before it ultimately was made at Warner Bros.

If I had to choose any kind of Vampire movie to sit through, this is the kind of movie I would like to see! While this news may not relate directly to the ' Vlad' comic book character published by Top Cow, it will still be nice to see a new take on the vampire genre. Does the sound of 'Vlad' entice you?
