Brad Meltzer and Chris Eliopoulos Bring Attention to Real Heroes for Charity

Meltzer is honoring 'Ordinary People' who changed the world.

Brad Meltzer and Chris Eliopoulos. Those two names immediately grabbed my attention when USA Today announced the team up between the two.

Meltzer, known for his work on IDENTITY CRISIS, his novels and the TV show, Decoded also launched a website, OrdinaryPeopleChangeTheWorld.com. The idea is, Meltzer was looking for clothes for his kids and wanted something other than the typical princess or sports apparel that fills the stores. He wanted to give his kids something they'd like along with a message they could look up to. That's where looking to inspiring individuals such as Muhammad Ali, Amelia Earhart and others came along.

The website will sell t-shirts designed by Eliopoulos and celebrate six American icons: Lucille Ball, Amelia Earhart, Eleanor Roosevelt, Muhammad Ali, Abraham Lincoln and George Washington. Each shirt will have an inspirational message on the back so not only will kids get the chance to wear a snazzy new shirt but also possibly learn some words of wisdom.

== TEASER ==

The shirts aren't just for kids and adult sizes (for men and women) along with other items like coffee mugs are also available in the shop.

If the messages and Eliopoulos' art wasn't enough, buying the shirts allows you to choose one of three charities for the proceeds to go to: City Year, which places literacy mentors in schools; Sharsheret, which helps young women with breast cancer; and the Make-A-Wish Foundation, for children with life-threatening illnesses.

For more information, be sure to check out the article at USA Today as well as the Oridinary People Change The World website.

AWESOME! If I ever have kids, I would so buy a George Washington shirt for them. Need to have Martin Luther King Jr. and Teddy Roosevelt in the series too.

Great job. Love seeing charities and things that help the youth of "our" country. Sad that all the people we have to look up to though are from days gone by.
