I'm with you Babs, i was feeling this book a lot less than you. I didn't like the Tim and Dick interactions and i hate that the black lanterns were nothing but old baggage. If you checked out the green lanterns blackest night books it got even worse. So far 12 year olds wrote this. i hate when i sound bitter, but this is really urking me. feels like this event has been dragging on forever. "

This was a good issue and the part where Tim finally encounters his parents was great I thought. It finally showed a crack in Tims emotional armor. Anyone else get the feel that in #3 Tomasi might actually bring in Thomas and Martha Wayne?

i see how fire is effective but is that the case for all black lanterns cuz superman might be a different story
 
and babs you didn't know i kinda had a sense that barbara and dick had feelings for eachother but they stayed friends i mean i know hes stern as a leader but he always has a soft spot for friends and family

You know for everything to come full circle I think they need to kill Talia.Robins are not supposed to have any living parents.How would her death effect him?
 
all joking aside I too wonder how the heck you kill these black lanterns.I believe there was a panel where it showed one of the black lantern's ring just hangin out after that particular lantern's hand was destroyed...I thought for a second that maybe it would have some kind of effect.I also liked Barbra's portrayal and am diggin me some Deadman(no pun intended).

They resolve the whole 'how to kill a Black Lantern' problem in Blackest Night 3, and the solution is kind of the obvious thing. They also allude to an even more obviouser obvious thing that reminds me of Captain Planet. That's all I'll say about that. Im sure you guys are probably reading it today.

I read Geoff Johns say  that Blackest Night takes place at the end of this DCU's "year".

Big events and mini series makes things difficult for even the most skilled writer in big arcs and cross overs. Every book only has so much time before the arc ends. That gives a writer very little time to tell a strong story. You'd like a mini series to have at a minimum of at least five parts, in my opinion; but if you think about it. That's almost half a year if you are speaking about a monthly series. Having a three part story almost feels like riding a short roller coaster and has a single drop. Sure, it may be fun, but it's over quickly and you are left feeling as if, "What, it's over already?".
 
Burning the bodies seems like a good solution to get rid of the bodies, but that doesn't solve what happens to the rings. Just feels like they could go off and find someone else to inhabit, or worse. Could you imagine if a Black Ring got to Doomsday? Though he never stays dead. He's like Jean Grey, but without the angst or the thunder thighs. (Sorry, channeling my inner Emma there.)
 
Barbara did look pretty hot in that picture. That almost looks like the "Don't you dare disappoint me!" look. I'll let your imagination create the setting there. lol

I liked this issue, not as good as the first one though. Dick and Damian were awesome and the Oracle was  much better than she was in Batgirl #2.
