When I first saw the solicit for this issue, my impression was that this would be a cheap tie-in for Blackest Night. That's the problem with the big 'events' in comics. It's almost like a free license for the publishers to pump out a ton of crossover issues and mini-series to sucker us into buying. With this Batman mini-series, is that the case?
If you watched the video, you know this was a pleasant surprise. It may not be 100% crucial to the eight issue Blackest Night mini-series but it was pretty dang good. It's a different book than issue #2 of Blackest Night and that's okay. We are seeing some progress in the overall story. Bottom line, I don't feel it's cheap.
Do you think we'll see more non-powered dead folk being selected by the Black Lantern rings? What do you think about some of those that have been resurrected in this issue? Do you think Dick's parents will be a threat? What about Tim's? What about Bruce's? How is this Blackest Night going to end?
