Agree with this completely. I just don't see DC/WB putting them together especially since they've placed the DC shows on a smaller network as opposed to CBS or even HBO.

Pretty sound idea to me, it gives a chance to see how people react to him, try to get a bit of a following and offer some hype.

I suppose this shift shows that the network must have confidence in the possibility of The Flash show.

Like most people I am still not completely sold on Grant playing Barry Allen, but I am willing to keep my mind opening and see how he performs before I really judge.

this worries me for the arrow show cause this means they are re-writing that episode to take barry out but hopefully it will be for the better cause you dont want him to outshine the main cast in anyway

that's the problem, so many people think she is so difficult to do but she isnt. what is so complex or difficult about her origin? "amazon queen makes a baby out of clay and pray to her gods who answer her prayer and gives it life." simple pimple. now depending on which origin you go with (i prefer george perez) she is either just another amazon OR she is gifted by each goddess of olympus with a different ability (like sleeping beauty minus maleficent). the difficult part is getting people to get pass their prejudices of wonder woman and giving her the shot she deserves

I hope it isn't the case of prejudice, but perhaps I'm naive. I think its more complex because the gods and Amazons are such a foreign idea and such a large part of her narrative that it makes the production of the film difficult without coming off cheesy. I mean, consider what they did to Thor in the movies. Marvel decided not to even make him a god, and instead resorted to him being some kind of high tech alien. Add to that the fact that while both Thor movies have made good money, they tend to be the least loved of the Marvel movies. I hope that DC's slowness to make a film for Diana means that want to ensure she gets the perfect treatment. Perhaps you're right about the prejudice, but I hope I'm write about the extra care they're taking. None of us want another Green Lantern.

Has david nutter been affiliated with arrow? Just seeing his name brings so much experience and class that gives me so much faith that it'll be fine.

Yes, I think this is a smart move.
More than the no powers in Arrow thing, if Flash's getting his own series, it should have the superhero debut right there and not a "check out episode blah of that other show" thing.
Also, if they do the origin right it could be awesome, and I really think they should bring Johns to help produce that flash origin episode of Arrow.
Remember Smallville? Not everyone liked it, but the 2 episodes Johns wrote were just amazing.

Wonder Woman is probably the most famous feminist icon, even outside of comics. Barry isn't. If they ruin Barry's show, it won't be as much of a big deal.

I just hope that when they finally do produce a movie that they used their time wisely, because I think they've taken long enough, especially since the Justice League movie comes out in 2017. I can't imagine Diana not being there. Who knows, maybe that'll be their jumping off point with her.

Here's what's going to happen: Barry won't have super speed. He'll have the nickname "Flash" somehow (akin to Oliver's sister being called "Speedy") - "woah, slow down there Flash - - what's your hurry?" He will have a super fast mind however and be able to solve crimes super fast - - usually between 41-43 minutes. Also, he'll usually be seen with maybe a yellow t-shirt and a red jacket of some sort and maybe other days he'll change to a red t-shirt and yellow jacket (naw, that'll be his "reverse Flash" arch nemesis over in the other precinct!). Captain Cold will be his actual police captain, the Weather Wizard will be the local weather guy on Channel 86, and the Trickster will be some minor comic-relief annoyance - - some guy tooling around on a skateboard and being all emo and stuff. Why, this show practically writes itself! LOL!

Was really hoping this was going to be about a casting change. But hey..can't knock him till you see what he's got I guess. Never would think you'd cast someone from Glee to be a superhero but than again the Flash is one of the more flamboyant characters.

I'm sick of the particle accellerator mentions on Arrow. We got it the first time... you're teasing Flash. Just move on

In the extended promo for Barrys debut episode it showed him being hit by lightning then falling into chemicals. I thought he wasnt getting his powers yet.

Why? And Flash hasn't been confirmed for a movie yet.

I think I read that they confirmed Arrow would not connect with the Cinematic Universe.

And either this version of The Flash. I think DC is creating a Multi-media universe not a shared one.
