What a great week for comic covers this was! We had some really beautiful covers (and not so beautiful ones), but overall, we thought it was a little bit hard to choose. This week's picks range from independent books, to more mainstream titles. And of course, just as in previous weeks, if there's a cover you feel deserves some love, post it in the thread below.
First up is the cover to PROPHET #26. There's nothing I don't like about this cover. It fully encompasses the image of a "dystopian future." The obscure buildings, the metal and technology engrained and trapped between the folds of organic matter -- it's brilliant/ The hues of pastel purples and pinks captures that sense of darkness, grey and blandness that would exist in this sort of a society. It's just a beautiful picture; something I wouldn't mind putting on my wall.

Next is Cameron Stewart's variant cover for BATMAN, INC. #2. The story itself centers around Talia al Ghul, so it makes sense that she be the one to grace the cover. The issue touches on the fact that throughout her entire adult life, Talia has found herself caught between two men that she loves dearly: her father and Batman. Stewart captures this by placing her at the center between the faces of the two men. She just looks really pretty here, gripping a dagger in her right hand as if to say she is finally taking matters into her own hands; which is pretty much what happens in this issue. I love this cover partly because Talia is the main focus (and I adore her), and partly because it's just so gosh darn nice to look at.
Speaking of covers that are nice to look at but also relate directly to what takes place in the issue is the cover to FF #19. Decked out in their khaki safari gear, here are Valeria and Franklin Richards aboard a rhinoceros. What a great picture. I love the carefree expression of both of the characters as they ride these wild and dangerous animals -- yet they have not a care in the world. The colors are fantastic; lots of browns and beiges that help to capture their surroundings. And did anyone else notice the little bandaid on Valeria's knee? It's pretty cute.
The cover for this week's ALL-STAR WESTERN #10 features Tallulah Black being thrown through the windows of Wayne's Casino as Jonah Hex looks on. Not only is this something that we actually see happen in the comic, but it's a great and very stylized image. The expressions on the faces of both Tallulah and Jonah Hex are perfect: his is utter shock, while her expression turns up in a grimace.
