It's the end of the week which means it's time for another weekly round-up of some of our favorite covers. As usual if there are any covers you feel we may have missed please feel free to list them below to share with the rest of the community. And now, without further ado, here are some of our favorites!
First up is the cover to ANIMAL MAN #16 by artist Steve Pugh. We chose this one because of Steve's attention to detail and the complexity of the image. It's a picture that really grabs you and pulls you into the story, and it helps that the issue is pretty great too!
== TEASER ==The cover to B.P.R.D. HELL ON EARTH #103 serves as a great example of clever use of colors by artist James Harren. I love that the main characters are essentially "staring into the abyss." The mysterious figure in the background adds just the right touch to really make it beautiful.
When Adam Hughes takes pencil to paper, magic is almost always guaranteed to happen. The cover to this month's FAIREST #11 is a prime example of exactly that. The image is highlighted with water colors and the result is just breathtaking.
There's just something really visually appealing about the latest cover to JOE PALOOKA #2 by artist Fernando Peniche. We loved seeing the contrast between the posters of Joe in the background, and him looking a little bit battered and beaten in the foreground.
Artist Francesco Francavilla's cover to NEW CRUSADERS: RISE OF THE HEROES #5 is fantastic. It has a classic superhero, noir feel and gives the viewer the impression that these heroes are ready for battle. We loved the way Francavilla plays with light in this image, too.
If you've ever wondered what Frank Castle's face might look like when it gets hit hard Thor's Mjolnir, well, artist Marco Checchetto gives us a bit of a hint. The details, the colors, and everything else is why we had to put this one on our list.
Finally, Erik Larsen's cover to SAVAGE DRAGON demonstrates really beautifully how minimalism can be so much more profound than a cover with a lot of detail.

Edit
Sorry, STAR WARS #1 drawn by Alex Ross really should be included here as well.
