Batman: Europa #4

(By Matteo Casali, Brian Azzarello, Giuseppe Camuncoli, and Gerald Parel)

Batman and Joker were both infected with a deadly virus and were forced to work together. They've worked their way across Europe and finally come across Batman's old enemy, Bane. Bane reveals himself by launching into both of them.

Batman and Joker's survival is tied to one another. After knocking Batman away, Bane makes his move on Joker.

Batman might be weak from the virus, but he'll still stand up to Bane, even if it's to protect Joker's life.

It looks like Batman's down. He struggled against Bane before. With the virus taking a toll on his body, this might be the end for Batman.

Since this is Batman we're talking about, of course he still has plenty of tricks up his sleeve.

Is this enough to stop Bane? Is there an antidote for the virus? You'll have to read the issue to find out.

Midnighter #9

(By Steve Orlando, ACO, Hugo Petrus, and Romulo Fajardo Jr.)

Midnighter has decided to work with the Spyral organization. Task Force X (aka the Suicide Squad) stole the deadly and dangerous Perdition Pistol and it's up to Midnighter to steal it back. After entering a secure complex, he comes across a speedster. This makes Midnighter happy because he's always wanted to fight one.

Midnighter has a computer in his brain, he's able to instantly compute every possible way the fight could go. This allows him to allows have the upper hand in a fight.

It's a good thing (for Midnighter) he brought a crowbar.

As you can imagine, Amanda Waller isn't too happy with Midnighter's actions. She sends some members of the Suicide Squad after him, including a new member named Afterthought.

Midnighter is caught off guard. Afterthought is actually dodging his moves and getting in some hits. It turns out Afterthought's brain is infused with Chrono-Experimental Science. Basically this means he is able to see five seconds into the future. Regardless of what move Midnighter will make, he'll always be able to know what it will be.

Things aren't looking too good for Midnighter.

Spawn #260

(By Todd McFarlane, Erik Larsen, and FCO Plascencia)

Spawn (Al Simmons) has returned to Hell. Spawn seeks out and stands up to Lucifer for the soul of his wife, Wanda.

Lucifer offered Spawn a deal--hand over his costume and he could have Wanda. Spawn refuses. He knows Lucifer can't make a simple deal in front of his army. That would show a weakness on his part. Lucifer's only option is to destroy him and Spawn won't allow that to happen without a fight.

Spawn is able to catch Lucifer and his army off guard. By blasting them, he can grab Wanda and teleport to another part of Hell. He needs to buy himself some time in order to win this war against Satan.

Satan is furious. As his army searches for Spawn and Wanda, the two are able to spend some time together and catch up. Their time alone doesn't last long.

They can only run for so long. Eventually they'll get blindsided. You'll have to read the issue and the rest of the arc to find out how it all ends.

That's all the time we have for this week.
