Best Battles in New Comics: 7/31/15

This week, we're featuring fights from LOBO ANNUAL #1, INJUSTICE: GODS AMONG US - YEAR FOUR Chapter 13, and TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES #48.

It's that time of the week. Time to look at the latest edition of Best Battles in New Comics. Comics often feature big battles with superheroes fighting supervillains. Sometimes we even have superheroes fighting other superheroes. Get ready to cheer and possibly cringe at the brutal punches being thrown.

There will be some spoilers below!

LOBO ANNUAL #1

(By Cullen Bunn, Robson Rocha, Guillermo Ortego, and Blond)

Lobo has a new contract. He's going after Sinestro. What better way to get his attention than to take out a potential Sinestro Corps new recruit?

It doesn't quite capture the Corps attention. Lobo comes up with a couple more attempts and finally faces them. They pull him out of his ship and let him have it.

He's done his research but there's only so much he can do. He knows there's really no point in fighting. It keeps going for a bit.

Looks like it's over for Lobo. Is this the end? The next page is even more gruesome. With Lobo finished, they head out.

But of course this isn't the end for Lobo. He has that hand dandy healing factor. Allowing them to think he's dead lets him follow them back to their base and hopefully to Sinestro. They do fight.

Is there more to this fight than there appears to be? What's really going on? Pick up the issue to find out.

INJUSTICE: GODS AMONG US - YEAR FOUR Chapter 13

(By Brian Buccellato, Bruno Redondo, Juan Albarran, and Rex Lokus)

It's been four years and the fighting continues. With the gods thrown into the mix, things are getting uglier. Hercules has decided to take things, and Wonder Woman's throat, into his own hands. Luckily, here comes Shazam.

Okay, so maybe that was sort of a cheap shot. He did zoom in and punch Herc in the back. Hercules recovers and gives Shazam a punch that would easily cave in a normal person's face. But Billy keeps on giving in return.

SIX GODS! Hercules is only one god.

Now this isn't the only fight going on. Batwoman gives Wonder Woman some attention too for what she did to Helena. But let's keep our focus on Shazam and Hercules.

He took the "H" back! Is Hercules (or 'Ercules) going to take that from him? You have to read to find out.

TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES #48

(By Kevin Eastman, Bobby Curnow, Tom Waltz, Cory Smith, and Ronda Pattison)

Shredder is determined to put an end to Splinter and the Turtles. Baxter Stockman unleashes an attack against them.

This round isn't too bad for them. They work through and make their escape. But we know it can't be that easy. Especially since this happens at the beginning of the issues. Just when they think they're out of this mess...

Uh oh. The first wave was nothing compared to this. And they're not even on stable ground right now. All hope is not lost as they do get some reinforcements.

Things are good now, right? Nope. More and more robotic foes keep coming at them.

The Turtles just haven't been able to catch a break lately.

Looks like we're out of time.
