Best Battles in New Comics: 7/24/15

This week, we're featuring fights from DEATHSTROKE #8, PUNISHER #20, and ARCHIE VS. PREDATOR #4.

It's that time of the week. Time to look at the latest edition of Best Battles in New Comics. Comics often feature big battles with superheroes fighting supervillains. Sometimes we even have superheroes fighting other superheroes. Get ready to cheer and possibly cringe at the brutal punches being thrown.

There will be some spoilers below!

DEATHSTROKE #8

(By Tony Daniel, James Bonny, Sandu Florea, and Tomeu Morey)

Deathstroke has kind of gotten himself into a sticky situation. He took on a job to kill an actual god. He even has a special fancy sword made by Hephaestus. Instead of killing the god, he actually unleashed him upon the world. Wonder Woman isn't too happy as it means the end of the Amazons and...the entire world. She thinks Slade is extremely arrogant if he thinks he can kill a god. And the fighting begins.

After she slammed him down to talk to him, he flips her off. Now it's one thing for Slade to think he can kill some random god with a shiny sword. You would think he'd know better than to flip Diana off him like this. She doesn't take it lightly.

Slade is pretty tough and good fighter but he might be a little out-matched. Still, he's not going to give up. Diana actually questions why he doesn't try fighting back now that he started the fight.

Will he be the last one standing? You'll have to buy the issue to see how it plays out.

PUNISHER #20

(By Nathan Edmondson and Mitch Gerads)

It's the end of the world as Frank Castles knows it. Yeah, he feels fine, even though he's taking quite a beating. The Incursion Wave from Secret Wars is coming. What does Frank do? He sets out to punish some really vile people. But has he gotten in over his head?

Frank is like a machine. He's so focused on this final mission. Why would he let something like getting shot several times stop him?

To Frank, it's all about the final punishment. That's all he cares about. He knows he's probably not walking away from this one. But he's not going to sit around and wait for the world to end. He's going to do as much as he can with what time he has left.

Only Frank would go out like this.

And, just so you know, this isn't the end of the issue. There is still plenty more to see. No way we'd spoil the ending here. You'll have to check it out for yourself!

ARCHIE VS. PREDATOR #4

(By Alex de Campi, Fernando Ruiz, Rich Koslowski, and Jason Millet)

Things are really bad in Riverdale. So many of Archie's friends have been brutally killed by a Predator. After Archie was seriously injured last issue, Veronica and Betty make their way to Veronica's father's panic room. It turns out, he has a lot of ammunition and weaponry on hand along with some equipment that can help Archie heal from his wounds. Veronica isn't going to take this threat lying down after losing so many friends.

Surely an intergalactic assassin would be able to avoid getting shot by a rich teenager with a machine gun. Luckily Archie does manage to do some heeling. It turns out the machine was cranked up a little too high. He was pumped up with all sorts of stuff that amped up his...everything.

Even this cranked up version of Archie isn't a match for the Predator. These are desperate times so Betty knows she has to try doing something as well.

Nooo! Poor Betty!! If you think that's bad, you need to see what happens after. This is such a brutal issue. I just never thought certain things would happen to these character even though they're in a comic with an actual Predator. It's pretty crazy.
