Boba Fett and Deathstroke have two things in common: they wear awesome attire and their names strikes fear into millions. These topnotch mercenaries have definitely earned their reputations and can be considered among the most dangerous individuals in their respective universes. But what happens when these two deadly characters are forced to face each other? Will Fett's advanced technology blast Slade Wilson apart? Or is the Terminator far too skilled to fall against the bounty hunter?
The poll opened on Monday and, since then, 345 Viners voted (if you want to vote next time, SIGN UP!). Boba Fett took a strong lead right off the bat, but then it became a tight race and there was some very extensive debating. Eventually, Deathstroke earned a slight lead and managed to hold onto it. In the end, the community believes Deathstroke wins.
The Comic Viner ZZoMBiE13 created an amazing picture of the final verdict. Don't worry, fans of the Fett, because you'll see he made an image of Boba winning, too!
Deathstroke earned 47% of the community's support. Boba Fett took in a respectable 43% and 9% thought this fight was just too close to call. "Too close to call" tends to earn 5% or less, so it's nice to see so many voters think this is a really close battle. After all, that's the whole point of this segment: to create balanced matches that are fun for everyone to think about.
This is such a close fight because both mercenaries have keen tactical minds, an impressive arsenal, and a formidable level of skill, However, it's Slade's boosted physicals and intellect that's apparently granting him the victory in this one. Boba Fett absolutely has what it takes to keep Slade on his toes, but given the Terminator's history with such a wide array of dangerous and powerful opponents, if safe to assume he could eventually close the gap and then use his enhanced reflexes and impressive skill in close quarters combat to bring systemically Fett down. That's not to say it's an immediate victory when Slade gets close, though. As stated above, Fett has his own commendable degree of skill and has plenty of equipment he can use in close proximity. But it is worth noting that, in close quarters combat, it's fair to believe Slade holds the edge and getting could close eventually lead to Fett's downfall. Fett may be able to zip around on that jetpack, but Slade's by no means slow. As Superman once stated, Wilson has "slick" moves and it's totally true. The DC character has displayed impressive speed, agility, and reflexes on countless occasions.
Again, this won't be easy for either party and, as the poll shows, this does have the potential to go either way. Still, it's worth noting that Slade's merely a man with enhanced physicals and still managed to earn his praiseworthy reputation in a world filled with immensely powerful villains and heroes. No matter who you think should win, we just hope you had an entertaining time speculating about it. Now, the majority supported Deathstroke, so it's fair to say he's received more than enough love. So, let's see why some people think Boba Fett should be walking away as the winner!

"Oooh, votes are even now. I think it is fair to say that there are countless scenarios where either guy can win. I'm just more of the mind that Fett will be able to utilise his superior weaponry, range and flight to keep Slade at bay and wear him down. And while it's a double edged sword in that Slade can win in close quarters, there's nothing stopping Boba from blasting him in the face with a flamethrower which is packing enough velocity to snap a steel chain, or activate a sonic emitter powerful enough to short out electronics and momentarily incapacitate a Jedi. He could even try to slap a whipcord around Slade's arms or legs, or activate his jetpack missile. He has so much versatility in his gear that it becomes a monumental task for Slade to get near him, and even if he does duck or dodge whatever Fett sends his way, Fett will be well out of range with his jetpack by then. And well, let's just say for arguments sake that Slade does get within swords range. How long is it going to take him to injure Fett, who is wearing armor that can stand up to multiple lightsaber strikes? Slade takes a stab at Boba's neck and it rattles off. Then what? Back to square one."

"Oh my gosh! @k4tzm4n, you're the best! Two of my absolute fav characters going head to head! This is a good one right here.
Both mercenaries are highly respectable and are the best at what they do in their universes. But, I think I'm going Boba here, due to the distance advantage. Boba is packed with gear. His EE-3 Carbine blaster rifle (which can disintegrate people and obliterate large vehicles), mini-concussion missiles capable of taking down huge, gigantic droids, thermal detonators, a flamethrower, stun dart agents, more missiles, sonic detonators, various types of other blasters. Deathstroke is certainly outgunned. His only prayer is his power staff, which would give Boba a heck of a stomach ache btw. But to give Boba that huge distance advantage is what convinces me he's got this in the bag. Deathstroke would undoubtedly clear a good portion of the gap, and wouldn't go down easy, but Boba's powerful AoE attacks would get the best of him, especially with nearby cars around. Furthermore, even if Slade did close the gap, Boba can maintain his distance advantage with his jetpack. Now if there was a closer, it'd definitely be closer. Boba, while impressive in his own right with his ability to beat Jedi in close combat, isn't as good as Deathstroke in said close combat, but he does still have a jetpack to keep his distance in his need be. So even then, it's a toss up.
Either way, I absolutely love this match and it's one I'd pay to see. I'm going to give Boba the victory by 6-7/10, with well-earned respect to Deathstroke."

"First off, great match up. Two of the deadliest mercenaries up against each other in winner-take-all battle. It will be bloody. It will be nasty. When it is over, the entire block will be only fit for rubble. That said, I think it will take him some time but and he will be walking wounded, but Boba Fett will reign supreme. Deathstroke might be the Greatest Mercenary in the World, but Boba is the Greatest Bounty Hunter in the Galaxy.
Deathstroke will have the advantage, physically in strength and speed; but his arsenal of human-made weapons simply can't match Boba's high-tech alien gear and his cunning and ruthlessness easily equals or surpasses Stroke's military-trained mind.
Boba has been up against Wookies and Trandoshans, run into and earned the grudging respect of Darth Vader, and even been digested through the Sarlacc so he's not only pretty darn tough but extremely deadly. The only time that I can recall that he got ever 'defeated' was more like comedic chance and dumb luck on Han Solo's part in 'Return of the Jedi.'"

It wasn't easy to find a section of Coruscant that was uninhabited, but he'd managed it. It was the only place he felt safe leaving his ship for large portions of time. "Uninhabited" was, of course, a relative term. The massive skyscrapers couldn't help but pick up stragglers, squatters and those, like him, who were looking to duck the law, but those were the types that he knew would respect a name and a reputation. And no one commanded both like Boba Fett. The gibbering mess at his feet hadn't stopped pleading since Fett had dragged him from that house of ill repute, and showed no signs of stopping, even as they made to board Slave I.
"An entire world, Mr. Fett. THAT is what I offer you! YOURS! SURELY no one can match that offer."
"True enough, no one could. But perhaps after I took that planet, everyone would know that the word of Boba Fett meant nothing, so long as the price was right. On the ship or lose a knee." He gestured but staggered back as a loud CRACK sounded and Fett felt an impact on his helmet that staggered him for a moment. His bounty chose this moment to break into a frantic run, but Fett fired into the back of his leg, staggering him.
"Ballistic metal? What's next, you'll try smashing my head between two logs?!"
The man who crept down from one of the abandoned skyscrapers shook his head as he stood before Fett, "Guess I underestimated how strong that melon shield of yours is," he threw down what looked like a blaster, but was obviously the thing he'd fired with. Fett raised his blaster rifle and fired, but the man...dodged it.
"It's not...possible." The beam traveled at the speed of light. A Jedi would have deflected it. And never used a weapon as primitive as the previous one. He fired time and again as the man in the blue and orange armor closed the distance, pulling out a smaller gun and firing it. It struck Fett in his elbow joint, not as armored and he staggered back. He fired again and and again, but Fett changed position enough that the metal shards merely bounced off his Mandalorian plate. He felt his legs go out from under him and heard the familiar sound of metal being unsheathed. He clapped his hands around the blade as it came down toward his throat.
"Name's Deathstroke..." the man said, barely straining, "and you give away where you're aiming. Didn't have to dodge the beam. Just dodged the barrel."
Fett struggled to hold the blade back, his arm screaming in agony and spitting blood defiantly, "He's my...bounty...damn poacher..."
"I couldn't care less. I was hired to take you out, and once I'm on the job, there's nothin' that stops me. Time, space, WHATEVER. Give me the resources and-" Fett pulled the sword toward his right pectoral, but it slide through his breastplate, cutting into his flesh, causing him to scream through gritted teeth. It also brought his foe's face within striking range. He weakly punched his temple and heard a chuckle. That chuckle turned into a shocked screech as Fett activated his flamethrower.
The man had torn his mask off, but it had been all the time Fett needed to climb to his feet and draw a pistol of his own. His vision blurred as his foe staggered and swayed, throwing Fett's aim off. Another pump of his heart, another gout of blood flowed and Fett found his gun too heavy to hold. His foe had regained his composure and stepped forward, grabbing the hilt of his sword. He made to tear it free, causing the bloodflow to go from a stream to a river, but something gave him pause.
"WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?! WHAT AM I PAYING YOU FOR?!?!?" both men turned toward the thin man with the hole in his leg. "WHAT?! I hired you to kill the man hired to kill me!"
Deathstroke looked at Boba Fett and grinned releasing his sword and turning slowly, "You did...but I kinda like him...and anyway, what was that about a free planet?"
It's been a good week for Slade Wilson, hasn't it? He's been voted as our latest Character of the Month, a new ongoing series was announced, voters have selected their favorite Deathstroke costume, and now he's earned a close victory over one of most dangerous characters in the Star Wars universe. Here's hoping his next battle will be just as thrilling as this one!
