Awesome Toy Picks: 'Teen Titans Go!' Cyborg

A cool collectible you'll want to add to your collection. Booyah!

Each week we take a close look at a comic book collectible. That means taking it out of the package. With the success of Teen Titans Go! on Cartoon Network (yes, people still complain about it but the ratings are great), some merchandise has started to surface.

There's a couple different versions of Cyborg available. This one stands about 8" and comes with a removable "rocket launcher" and cybernetic eye (more on this in a moment). The other version I saw at Toys 'R Us is about 5" and only has a removable power jet pack (no cybernetic eye option).

Unfortunately the back of the packaging is a little misleading.

It shows the entire team but it doesn't appear they are all available. I only saw this version of Cyborg and 5" versions of Cyborg and Robin. Even looking at Jazwares website, they only show these along with a 2" multipack (which is selling for insane prices on eBay and Amazon) along with plushies of Robin, Cyborg and Trigon. The website has no text information whatsoever on this line.

But Cyborg is pretty cool looking.

Because it's based on the cartoon, there's not an abundance of detail, but there really isn't a need for it. With the size of this, it actually has a tiny bit of heft to it. His joints are a little on the loose side, making it feel like it has more playability. Surprisingly, it stands very well considering it has more weight on the top.

There is some articulation. You can rotate his head and wrists. There are joints at his elbows and knees. There are also some rotating ball-joints at the hips and arms.

Let me emphasize that no assistance was given to the figure in getting it to stand on the uneven surface. I was impressed. You can see how the legs can rotate.

Besides being bigger than the other version, when I saw it had a "cybernetic eye," I was immediately reminded of the old Six-Billion Dollar Man figure with a "bionic eye" (you might've seen it mentioned on an early episode of Comic Book Men). On the back of his head, you can look in to see out through his eye.

Sadly, it just works okay. It's a little hard to make out what you're supposed to be looking at when you peer through his head. Everything has a pinkish tint and you can see the target. It's still kind of cool.

You can also see above that there are some slots in his back. This is where the "rocket launcher" fits in.

Cyborg is a hilarious character on the show. I can't decide if I want this figure on my desk at home or at the office. It'd be great if they made the other characters as well. If they did, this large size might be too much. Hopefully we will see more. More merchandise means a better chance for the show to stay on the air if it continues to be profitable.

That's it for this week. We'll have another item spotlighted next time.

What are your thoughts on this figure? Is it one you'd consider buying? Have you even seen it at stores?
