Awesome Toy Picks: Negan from THE WALKING DEAD

A cool collectible you'll want to add to your collection.

Each week we take a close look at a comic book collectible. That means taking it out of the packaging. People love to hate the villains. In Robert Kirkman's THE WALKING DEAD, we've seen a couple pretty ruthless villains besides all the zombies walking around. This week we're going to look at Negan.

This is a Skybound exclusive figure from McFarlane Toys. As you can see, there are two different versions, one in color and one in black-and-white, with blood highlights. Both are cool looking but there's something really cool about the black-and-white version. It's closer to the feel of the character in the comics and it makes the blood stand out more.

While the figure is exclusive, the cool thing is you can easily get one. You just have to visit TheWalkingDead.com and buy one. You can get either one for $25.00.

Who is Negan?

Negan is the leader of a group called the Saviors. He's a ruthless leader who will do anything to get what he wants. He often makes a violent and brutal point with his barbed wire baseball bat, Lucille, which is included.

You can see that Negan has a little bulk to him. That's part of what makes Charlie Adlard's design pretty cool. THE WALKING DEAD is as far from a superhero comic as you can get and one of the things I love about it is the variety in the looks of the characters.

If you've been reading the comics, you know Negan and Lucille have a special relationship.

Besides Lucille, Negan comes with a knife that sits in scabbard on in his hand, if he's willing to put Lucille down.

Negan also comes with another accessory, an iron. The iron doesn't have a special name. He uses it to mark the face of those who betray him.

The subtle detail throughout the figure is really nice. McFarlane Toys has often delivered when it comes to action figures. I'll admit I don't have many of the other Walking Dead figures but now I kind of wish I did.

He's a bad bad man but without great villains, where would the story be? This is a great looking figure that you'll want regardless if you have any others in the line.

That's it for this week. Do you collect figures from THE WALKING DEAD? What do you think of this exclusive one? We'll have another item featured next time.

Seriously though i never got the "toys" thing.

And i don't see why black and white makes them look better.....

(yes i know the comics are in B&W)

Such a cool figure. I know it's exclusive to TheWalkingDead.com but anyone know if there are plans for this guy to make his way into comic shops?

For a WD toy, that is pretty bad@$$ looking.

I've got the first series of Walking Dead comic book figures. Haven't bought any others. This Andrew Dice Clay figure with a baseball bat seem cool though.

I bought this figure months ago and it's one of my favorites. Granted I'm a huge Walking Dead comic/show fan and the B &W figure with blood is perfect for those reading the comics. The color version is cool too, but no blood and I think it takes away from the comic book experience. He is one hell of a villain and I have nothing but praise for this figure. Good job Tony! I was excited to see this as your feature.

I got this back when it came out. I'm looking forward to the upcoming wave.

Agreed. Hes really compelling. You hate him so much but he is also really charismatic in an awful violent way.
