Awesome Toy Picks: LEGO Simpsons Mini-Figures

Some cool collectibles you'll want to add to your collection.

Each week we take a close look at a comic book collectible. That means taking it out of the package. If you've been checking out this feature on a regular basis, you know we like LEGO figures and sets. LEGO has released some individual MiniFigures based on the Simpsons. So of course as soon as we saw them at the store, we bought some.

You might recall back in January, we posted about the LEGO Simpsons house set. It retails for $199.99 and comes with six figures (the family and Flanders). The cool thing about these separate figures is they aren't the same exact figures. Their eyes and other details are different.

This MiniFigure set contains sixteen figures.

You may have noticed the video at the top of the page. Part of the fun of buying blind figure sets is not knowing what you're going to get. We know you guys like watching our glee and anguish in getting different ones or getting stuck with duplicates. Make sure you watch the vid first so you join in the suspense. Then look below for close ups of who we got.

The first figure we'll look at is Homer Simpson.

The nice thing about these MiniFigures is they come with accessories. You can get a glimpse at them in the directions above. Homer comes with a donut and the TV remote.

The next figure we'll look at is Bart Simpson.

Bart comes with his skateboard. You'll notice he has shorter legs to make him shorter. These figures also come with short sleeves, something LEGO figures don't usually see. The slingshot in his back pocket is a nice touch as well.

We were able to finish off the Simpson male trio is Grampa Simpson.

Abe comes with a newspaper.

Next we have Chief Wiggum.

Wiggum comes with a megaphone and baton.

Who's the funniest clown in Springfield? We're not sure either but here's a look at Krusty the Clown.

Krusty comes with a pie. Will he be able to smash it in someone's face before Homer eats it?

Next we have half the the animated duo from Krusty's show, Scratchy.

Scratchy comes with an axe.

If you watched the video, you know we ended up a double. We got two Grampas. That means that's all the figures we have to showcase. Each figure cost $3.99. You are taking a chance when you buy multiple packages. But because they come in bags instead of boxes, you could try to cheat and feel around the bag. Some figures might be obvious but others will be a little harder to distinguish from the others.

Once we opened these, we had the urge to get more. Unfortunately the next time we went to the store, they were out. Perhaps we'll look for them again.

That's it for this week. Have you seen these in stores? Did you buy any? Who did you get?

These look very good, the blind bag is annoying, unless they are something like the TF Kreo bags when you can easily tell who is in the bag.

I picked up some for my son, very cool. He opened Lisa, Maggie, Scratchy and Ned Flanders.

I love these mystery Lego bags. I picked up one of these Simpsons ones the other day and got a Lisa with her saxamaphone.

When I first saw these, I thought they looked kinda crappy- but now, I think I might have to go run out and get some.

Wow, pretty good haul. Only one repeat, even without stupid Flanders.

These kind of things used to be numbered so, though you didn't know exactly what you were getting, you didn't end up with doubles. An Itchy and a Scratchy and I'd be set.

I'm looking out for your best interests Tony, don't get more.

These look really really cool. The Scratchy particularly. For 2 bucks a piece I would be all over these. Even at 3 I might pick up a few, but $4 is ridiculous for something so little. It baffles me that there is still a collector's market with how expensive toys have gotten these days. Comics too I guess, but if anything I'm only buying more than I used to. I guess it makes sense the same weak will would be present in collectors of plastic.

I want Ralph and Maggie :D

these are super easy to game when looking for a specific character, everyone has very unique heads and accessories. Bart's skateboard is larger than his body. I got a Ralph on my first time trying to get a ralph. :) I choo choo chose him

Hmm, think I'll pick 2 or 3 of these up.
