Awesome Toy Picks: LEGO Batman: Man-Bat Attack

A cool collectible you'll want to add to your collection.

Each week we take a close look at a cool comic book collectible. That means we take it out of the packaging. While I originally had a different item planned for this week, discovering some new Batman LEGO sets on the shelves preempted the original plan.

There's been a few different Batman LEGO sets. (You can filter the search to "articles" and type 'LEGO Batman' or just click HERE). The first of the newer sets we'll look at this time is LEGO Batman: Man-Bat Attack.

This isn't a huge set. It contains 184 pieces and is a pretty easy build. It does include yet another vehicle for Batman but the Batcopter is cool.

What is even cooler is the fact that this set includes Nightwing and Man-Bat. Man-Bat, or Kirk Langstrum, has straddled the line between bad and being misunderstood. But in this set, he's bad. He's attacking. So it's up to the former Dynamic Duo to stop him.

The Batcopter is a little different from past LEGO helicopters we've seen in other sets. It does have a Batman feel to it. Batman fits fairly easily in the cockpit. You might have to adjust his cape a little but he will fit inside with it on. There is only room for one so that means Nightwing has to find his own transport (which he did, sort of). There's also a hook on a rope you can raise or lower should Batman need to do any towing or if he tries to use it to capture Man-Bat.

What does Nightwing use for transportation? He has a weird jetpack-type thing. It's branded with his red logo but it's a little clumsy of a build. It's a little on the big size for a jetpack or glider. There appears to be hooks on the top that move but it's not clear what they're meant for. Perhaps they're suppose to fire out the grappling hooks for whatever reason he might have.

Then there's Man-Bat. You have to admit he's cute-looking. The only problem with him is he looks better with his arms up. But that makes him look a little weird too. Arms down looks more awkward because of his wings.

Apparently Man-Bat is a fan of dynamite.

Each LEGO figure comes with two different faces so you can switch up their mood depending on what is going on in your LEGO adventures.

The set retails for about $20. Considering you get three LEGO figures plus the Batcopter, it's a good deal. If we're being realistic, Nightwing is the draw here. Man-Bat is cool too if you're a fan of the character. Chances are, you already have a LEGO Batman figure.

There are more LEGO Batman sets so you can expect to see more featured here soon, in future installments. For now, we'll leave you with this.
