Awesome Toy Picks: Batman Sixth Scale Figure by Sideshow Collectibles

A cool collectible you'll want to add to your collection.

Each week we take a close look at a comic book collectible. That means taking it out of the package. This week's selection you'll definitely want to take out. Sideshow Collectibles gave us the opportunity to get an early look at the Batman Sixth Scale figure.

The box is simple and elegant. Of course the box is black but that blue on the bottom gives you a hint at what's inside. You can see on the back and the art inside which time period this Batman comes from.

This figure is due in September and the price is $199.99, as expected. You may have already checked out the video at the top of the page. You can find all the pre-ordering info here: http://bit.ly/BlueBatman. He comes with quite a bit.

As with the other figures, he comes with a clothe cape and outfit. The thing about this cape is it's long. It's really long. That's great to give you more options when deciding how you want to put this on display. You can have it completely covering his body or get it to flow behind him.

You can see he's holding some Batarangs. He comes with four of them. One is a little bigger than the others. It's really cool how easily he holds them in one of his many hands. You have the option of putting then in his right or left hand.

I like how the sun was shining in the background on this next shot. It makes it look like it's really reflecting off the Batarangs.

As with the other figures from Sideshow Collectibles, there is an incredible amount of detail in the costume. You can see all the seams and the texture of the clothing gives it a realistic look.

You can see on his gloves, the fins are a hard plastic. We know, especially in the movies, he likes to use those for defense.

Also similar to most Sideshow figures, this one can easily stand on its own. There is simply so much articulation (as you saw in the video above) and you can put the legs in different positions.

Another accessory he comes with is a grapple hook gun. There's a couple different pieces you can insert for the before or after firing positions.

This figure comes with more than one head. He has three different ones. You've seen his calm look (or is it his happy look?). Here's his more angry look.

That's quite the grimace he has on his face. I think many of us long to see Batman give in to his rage, at least once, and unleash it on his enemies. The look might seem like a bit much but it's a great option to have. It's a little weird having extra heads lying around with these figures but having the option to change them is pretty cool.

The third head he has is more of a battle-damaged version. If you have other sixth scale figures and plan on positioning them in a big brawl, this next Batman head will look good.

The detail in his cowl looks great. He's a little cut and bruised as well. It's almost as if he was fighting...Superman? What could Batman do if he had to fight Superman? How about break out a Kryptonite Ring.

It may not make a lot of sense but I can't help but want to keep the ringed hand on him all the time.

Another cool thing is putting this figure next to other ones. You might remember when we did a feature on the Joker sixth scale figure.

You can also see Batman's "ears" are a little different in the heads. Which head do you like best?

You can also see there is a stand. The stand is pretty tall so it seems it's for putting him in a jumping or attack position. This is good to show the span of his cape.

This is a great figure. You'd expect nothing less from Sideshow Collectibles. The figures are solid and sturdy. There's plenty of articulation to put them in different poses and the detail is incredible.

You can pre-order this figure right now. Click over to Sideshow's site here: http://bit.ly/BlueBatman for more information. These figures do sell out so if you like Batman (and who doesn't?), you'll want to order this right away.
