Awesome Toy Picks: Back to the Future, Marty McFly - Vinyl Idolz Figure

A cool collectible you'll want to add to your collection.

Each week we take a close look at a comic book collectible. That means taking it out of the box. You might be saying, "Wait a minute! Comic book...Back to the Future...what are you talking about?" Hopefully you heard the news that there is indeed a Back to the Future comic coming out through IDW this October. A new Marty McFly figure has also just been released from Funko through their Vinyl Idolz/Vinyl Sugar line.

The box is pretty nice. It's simple but classy. As you saw in the video, it's easy to open and you can always place the figure back inside if you wanted to store it after having it out on display. The back of the box also has some information on Marty, not that you should need it.

This is a figure you'd put on display. There isn't any articulation. It's also a very solid feeling figure. Many other figures are hollow and feel a little cheap. It has a nice heft to it so you can feel confident it's not going to break if it accidentally gets bumped.

The figure comes with a stand, which it needs since it's so top heavy. You can see Marty wearing his trademark orange vest (with denim jacket underneath) and holding the camcorder in one hand and his skateboard in the other.

The cartoony look might not be appealing to some but I like the goofy nature of the figure. It helps it stand out from other lines and gives it a more cohesive feel (with the other figures in the Vinyl Idolz line).

I do have to say the figure looks a little weird from the sides. It's like his face got smooshed.

Here's a better look at his skateboard. He did have a decal on it with these colors.

The figure stands at about 8 inches. It retails for $19.99, which seems to be the average price for most action figures these days. There is also a Doc Brown figure, which we'll look at very shortly.

Check out the Vinyl Sugar Facebook page for other figures available and what's coming up. Let us know what you think of this. Be sure to check out the video. Be on the look out for our hands on look at Dr. Emmett Brown very soon.
