Awesome Art Picks: Mr. Freeze, Supergirl, Batman and More

The coolest comic art you won't see in comic books.

I'm going to be totally honest, I didn't think we'd have an installment this week. I figured the artists would all be taking a well-deserved break for the holidays. Thankfully, I was wrong.

Each week we search high and low on the internet to find the coolest dang comic book art you won't see in comics. The reason you won't see them in comics is because artists often do sketches and commissions of other characters they may not be working on and post them on their Tumblrs or blogs.

The first was sent to me by the cool Peter Nguyen. It was meant to be for a holiday wish but of course I can't resist posting it here for everyone to enjoy (don't worry, I already told him I was going to).

Be sure to check out his Tumblr for more cool stuff.

Phil Noto posted another Christmas-y picture on his Tumblr this week. He titled it, "A Christmas Story Carol."

Mike Maihack has occasionally posted some Supergirl/Batgirl (Stephanie Brown) comics on his blog. Because it's that time of year, he did one in the spirit of the holidays.

It's always fun checking out Agnes Garbowska's sketches. Check out some of the latest she's posted on her Tumblr. Who's the better 'couple,' Harley and Joker or He-Man and Skeletor?

Joel Gomez posted a bunch of Marvel sketch covers on his Tumblr. It's been said a lot each week, we definitely need to see Joel doing more comics.

You can't have Holiday Cheers without Batman, right? How about Batman versus Solomon Grundy by Peter Krause posted on his blog.

That'd be a great Batman/Holiday adventure. But if it didn't quite have the holiday spirit you're craving, perhaps this final piece Michael Walsh posted on his Tumblr.

That wraps it up for this week (no Christmas pun intended). Be sure to check back for the next installment and Happy Holidays from all of us here at Comic Vine.
