Each week we gather up the coolest comic book art you won't see in comics. The reason you won't see it in comics is because artists often do sketches and commissions when not drawing for the books they're working on. They are simply too great to go unnoticed.
An artist that often makes an appearance here is Phil Noto. His style is something else and it's always a treat when he updates his Tumblr.. Being a big Star Wars fan myself, I was pleased to see his take on the classic comics from Marvel.
== TEASER ==Noto is also an expert at drawing characters in seemingly innocent poses. Yet when you look at them, their eyes speak volumes. Check out his Jean Grey circa 1977.
Are you noticing a little theme here with Noto's art? This next one might not be comic book related but I also have fond memories of the old Atari 2600. But it doesn't look like the guy in this image is too happy with his girlfriend playing with his joystick.
Cliff Chiang might have had a break on this month's issue of WONDER WOMAN but he updated his Tumblr with a couple sketches. The first is a private commission of Magik as well as an image of Mario and Princess Peach.
Dark Horse recently put out a Lobster Johnson comic. Hopefully you had a chance to pick it up. Joel Gomez must have and posted this sketch on his Tumblr.
Did you catch Chris Samnee's art on this week's issue of ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN? Check out these sketches of Batman and Black Widow he posted on his webpage.
Over at Comic Twart, the theme this week was SPACE. You can see Samnee's version of the Spirit in space.
Francesco Francavilla digs making mock posters. Hopefully you've heard of the old TV show Space: 1999.
Declan Shalvey took this opportunity to do a Star Trek pic.
Michael Walsh was pretty busy this week. He's put up several sweet sketches on his Tumblr. Check out his Joker, Sinestro, Conan & Belit, Prophet, Kraken and Winter Soldier. Woo!
Mike Mayhew posted this on his Twitter the other day as his 'morning warm up.'
Tom Raney's been posting commissions on his Twitter again this week.
Finally, let's end the week with some art by Dustin Nguyen posted on his Tumblr.
