Awesome Art Picks: Havok, Wolverine, Zatanna, and More

The coolest comic book art you won't see in comics.

Each week we gather up the coolest comic book art that you won't see in actual comics. The reason you won't is because artists often draw sketches for fun or commissions and post them on their blogs, websites, and Tumblrs. Some artists even arrange commissions ahead of time through their websites so be sure to check them out.

Ryan Ottley posted some warm-up sketches on his Tumblr this week.

Rafael Albuquerque posted this Rocket Raccoon sketch on his Instagram page.

Brett Booth posted a sketch of the movie version of Captain America on his blog.

Check out the cover redo Mike Allred posted on his blog. Pretty snazzy, huh?

Dustin Nguyen posted a sketch of Damian dressed as Nightwing and the pencils of a Tim Drake pic on his Tumblr.

Ray-Anthony Height posted this Cable sketch on his Tumblr. He said this is maybe the third time he's ever drawn him.

Marcio Takara is getting ready for Emerald City Comic Con, which is at the end of the month. He posted some new sketches and some new prints he'll have at the show on his Tumblr.

Joel Gomez posted some more sketches on his Tumblr.

Mahmud Asrar posted a Steampunk Kitty Pryde and Lockheed pre-show commission on his Tumblr for his Germany Tour 2014.

Philip Tan posted a few more great sketches on his Facebook page.

Ryan Stegman posted some more pencil sneak peeks for WOLVERINE plus some cover sketches on his Tumblr.

Yildiray Cinar posted these cool Namor and Spirit sketches on his Instagram.

Chris Giarrusso put up a couple more sketches for sale on his website. They're sold already so you'll want to keep an eye on the site.

Gene Gonzales will be at MegaCon in Flordia on March 21-23. He opened up his advance sketch list so check out his blog for his email to arrange a commission.

Peter Nguyen digs the 90s X-Men and is trying an experiment of switching characters color schemes of different pairs of characters. Check out the Wolverine and Jubilee his posted on his Tumblr.

Paolo Rivera will be at Sacramento Comic Con this weekend. Be sure to stop by and say hello for us. Here's a Hela sketch he posted on his blog.

Clay Mann posted a penciled peek from X-MEN #13 on his Tumblr.

Adam Kubert posted a Cyclops cover sketch on his Tumblr.

Sean Murphy posted a Superman 'cover' on his Deviant Art Page.

Rod Reis posted a couple new sketches on his Tumblr this week. Hellboy and a 50s Batwoman.

Skottie Young posted some really cool Daily Sketches on his website.

Here's a couple cover sketches Eric Canete posted on his Tumblr.

Todd Nauck has been busy once again. He was at a fundraising event at Metropolis Comics for Michael Morones.

That's it for this week. It's been a busy week but we will have more great art next time.

Brett Booth's Captain America sketch is probably the best I've ever seen of the character. Dustin Nguyen's Nightwing and Tim Drake were great too. I also really liked Marcio Takara's Zatanna.

Sean Murphy's Supermen is by far my favorite though. I'm a little biased, because Sean Murphy's my favorite artist, but eh...what are you gonna do?

I love the art from Brett Booth (as always), Mike Allred, Dustin Nyguen, Marcio Takara, and Phillip Tan this week!
