Awesome Art Picks: Green Goblin, Captain America, Jean Grey, and More

The coolest comic book art you won't see in comics.

Every week we search around the Internet for the coolest comic book art that you won't see appear in actual comics. The reason you won't is because artists often draw sketches for fun or commissions and post them on their sites, blogs, and Tumblrs. Some artists even pre-arrange commissions through their sites so be sure to check them out.

Reilly Brown got into the patriotic spirit this week and posted some Captain America pics he did on his Tumblr along with a couple others.

Chris Samnee gets a lot of Daredevil requests for commissions. Here's some recent ones he posted on his blog.

Kris Anka posted a bunch of cool character designs on his Tumblr.

Brett Booth finally updated his blog with some more sketches.

Peter Nguyen posted some new art on his Tumblr including team of women to take on Cassandra Nova. You can check out the details on his Tumblr. Sounds like he may have some prints of these at his booth at SDCC (table HH20).

Ryan Ottley did another Spider-Man warm-up sketch and a cool drawing of a drawing of a drawing...and posted them on his Tumblr.

Kevin Wada posted more HeroesCon sketches on his Tumblr.

Robert Atkins loves drawing G.I. Joe characters. He posted a couple new sketches and a Superman one on his blog.

Mike Henderson posted some new art on his Instagram page.

Skottie Young posted some more Daily Sketches on his site this week.

Ryan Stegman posted a couple new pics plus peeks at his comic work on his Tumblr.

Joel Gomez posted some new sketches on his Tumblr.

Brione got this sketch cover from Mikel Janin. Janin also recently posted this great Batgirl and Nightwing sketch on his Twitter page.

Marcio Takara posted this Batwoman sketch for Boston Comic Con on his Tumblr.

Mahmud Asrar did this sketch cover for Special Edition NY and posted it on his Tumblr.

Agnes Garbowska posted some new art on her Tumblr. She'll have a Tangled print at SDCC (Table HH-18).

Yildiray Cinar posted some new art on his Instagram page.

J. Scott Campbell posted some sketches from Denver Comic Con on his Instagram page.

That's it for this week. Hope you enjoyed the art we found. We'll be back next time with more.

I like all the Cap love that's on here, namely from Reilly Brown, all great stuff, esp. since I'm feeling rather patriotic & I've watched Cap like 5 times today. Cinar's Aquaman is freakin' awesome, one of the best images of the character I've seen in awhile. Nguyen's series of heroines is also very beautiful work. I also love Kris Anka's character sketches(esp. Moon Knight) and Henderson's classic Iron Man is an awesome blast from the past.

Peter Nguyen's stuff was beautiful this week.
Scott Campbell's are amazing too.

Good finds!

If I were Jabba the Hutt, and the last thing I ever saw was that Slave Leia wrapping her chain around my neck ... I'd be alright with that. Campbell is insane with color work.

Glad to see Breet Booth's art back!

That Ryan Ottley drawing-within-a-drawing piece is pleasantly out of place among the usual superhero fare. Might be the most conceptual thing I've seen posted on ComicVine. Well done, G-Man. You're branching out.

I saw J. Scott Campbell working on the Lady Death Drawing when I was at his booth at Denver Comic Con. I really enjoy his work.

as much as I love that Ottley only focuses his time on Invincible and I don't want him to leave that book...I sure would love for him to do a couple issues of Spider-man

My Captain America costume concept prior to the first movie.
The scale area would help give the illusion that he had broader shoulders, and the helmet would hep shape his head more like the comic.
USO costume that inspires uniform. scales are paper thin plastic.
My comic character, Monkey Boy, as Captain America

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY (a little late)

I like the amount of Storm Artwork this week. And the Sonic the Hedgehog one looked hilarious.

I really don't understand why so many people draw the Vision with such dull colors, and I especially don't understand why his glamorously over-sized collar is often left out.

I dont think there was anything in here that was bad. But Peter Nguyen, damn. I would pay top dollar if he did that scarlet witch, and I could put it in my house/
