Every week we search for the best comic book art that won't actually be appearing in comics. The reason they won't is because artists often do sketches for fun or commissions and post them on their Tumblrs, blogs and websites. Some artists even arrange commissions through their sites so be sure to check them out.
Vinny Navarrete is the artist on SKETCH MONSTERS. I saw him drawing the Rocketeer at Rose City Comic Con and told him he needed to post that on his Tumblr. Looks like he posted some other sketches too.
Robert Atkins loves drawing G.I. Joe characters and it shows. But that's not all he can draw. Check out the latest pots on his blog.
Brett Booth has been busy but found time to draw a sketch of Cyclops and posted it on his blog.
Marcio Takara has been working non-stop on New York Comic Con commissions. Check out the latest he posted on his Tumblr. The last pic is the prints he'll be selling. Looks like I'll be buying some.

Chances are this Gonk/Power Droid sketch Mike Mayhew posted on his Twitter will end up in an issue of THE STAR WARS. But it's pretty impressive how cool he can make the droid action figure I hated as a kid look.
Ryan Stegman posted this sketch on his Tumblr. He said he was working on a "drawing for a thing."
Todd Nauck has been busy lately. He posted a bunch of sketches on his Tumblr from Project: Comic Con in St. Louis last week.
