Awesome Art Picks: Cyclops, Batman, Wonder Woman, and More

The coolest comic book art you won't see in comics.

Each week we gather up the coolest comic book art you won't see in actual comics. The reason you won't is because artists often draw sketches for fun or for commissions and post them on their websites, blogs, and Tumblrs. Some artists even pre-arrange commissions through their sties so be sure to check them out.

Todd Nauck posted some new art on his Tumblr. He's giving away this first Rachel and Nightcrawler pic through a re-tweet contest on Twitter. Not sure when it's over so check it out ASAP. He also did a tribute to Robin Williams.

Philip Tan posted some more sketches including some colored pics on his Facebook page this week.

Paolo Rivera posted a Cable pic on his blog.

Kris Anka's Tumblr is like a party and you never know who or what is going to stop by. Check out some of the new sketches he posted this week.

Adam Kubert posted a bunch of sketches he did at Boston Comic Con last weekend on his Tumblr.

Francesco Francavilla posted some more Guardians of the Galaxy pics on his Tumblr.

Marcio Takara also posted some sketches from Boston on his Tumblr.

Ryan Ottley was a little busy at Boston. Check out some of the sketches he posted on his Tumblr. Head on over there to see the rest.

Mike Deodato posted this Spider-Man/Gwen Stacy commission on his Tumblr. You can also see a version colored by Alexandre Palomaro HERE.

Peter Krause posted another thirty-minute Mad Men sketch (of Joan) on his Twitter page along with a couple quick Black Canary sketches using Manga Studio.

Skottie Young posted some new Daily Sketches on his website. He mentioned whenever he's not feeling inspired to give his take on a popular character, he draws a sketch of his character, Boy. Hopefully we'll find out more about him soon.

Reilly Brown posted a commission from SDCC on his Tumblr. His next show is Baltimore in September.

Joel Gomez posted a couple commissions on his Tumblr. He'll be at FanExpo next.

Mahmud Asrar posted this X-23 sketch on his Tumblr.

Kevin Wada posted some more HeroesCon sketches on his Tumblr.

Denis Medri posted a Rockabilly Batman commission on his Deviant Art Page.

Yildiray Cinar posted a couple Spidey-related sketches on his Instagram page.

Mike McKone posted a couple commissions on his Twitter page. (Dancing Groot!)

Peter Nguyen posted a Supergirl pic and ink wash version on his Tumblr. You can also check out a couple Insta-Vids on his page of the process.

Mike Henderson posted a bunch of new art on his Instagram once again. I don't know where he finds the time doing this plus working on NAILBITER.

Bernard Chang posted a John Stewart ice bucket challenge on his Instagram.

That's it for this week. Which ones were your favorite? We'll have more new art next time. If there's a comic artist that has a blog or Tumblr that we're missing, let us know!

The Philip Tan Beast is awesome.

Kick-ass Dr. Octopus costume.

And I can't be the only one who thought it was awesome that Deadpool could slice 2 bats out of the air with one swing!

I usually think Joel Gomez's stuff is too gritty, but I really enjoyed his stuff this week.

Ryan Ottley is a god among men.

Posted by Astro_Zombie78

I hate Spawn but that Philip Tan Spawn is badass. His stuff is consistantly some of the best every week.

Jeepers, no one does peepers like Marcio Takara.

no & no. Its only a matter of time until BC, like Power Girl, goes back into her real costume that everyone actually wants.

Yeah because wearing a costume that doesnt protect her makes so sense. I like Modern and N52 Costume because protect her and also it is fit to dont get in way of her skills.

Anyone else notice how these art collections have been increasing in quality from week to week. All of the artists are stepping up their game.

I think the Batman Rockabilly sketches look better than the actual design of most of the characters. My favorite from this batch is definitely that Batman Beyond image, though. Great coloring and composition.
