Each week we gather up the greatest fresh comic book art that won't actually appear in comics. The reason they won't is because artists often do sketches for fun or commissions and post them on their Tumblrs, blogs and websites. Many artists arrange commissions or sell original art through their sites so be sure to check them out.
This weekend was supposed to be Boston Comic-Con where some of this week's featured artists were going to attend. The con has been canceled and will be rescheduled. The important thing is everyone is safe.
This week we'll start off with Todd Nauck. He posted some recent commissions on his Tumblr and his Instagram page.
Michael Walsh will be at C2E2. Here's a couple pre-show commissions he posted on his Tumblr.
Agnes Garbowska was supposed to be at Boston. She will also be at C2E2. Check out the recent commissions she posted on her Tumblr.
Peter Nguyen will be at C2E2 as well. Here's pre-show commissions he posted on his Tumblr. (More information on the Black Widow piece HERE).
Khary Randolph posted this Superman pic he did back in 2004 in honor of his 75th birthday (Superman's, not Khary's). Colors were done by Kanila Tripp.
Robert Atkins will also be at C2E2. Here's some recent G.I. Joe commissions he posted on his blog. Yo Joe!
Mahmud Asrar posted a couple sketches on his Tumblr and Deviant Art Page this week.
Joel Gomez posted some sketch card art on his Tumblr.
This next one isn't necessarily new and it might bring a little tear to your eye. Phil Bourassa posted this Young Justice poster he drew in 2011 on his Deviant Art Page. It was a giveaway at SDCC and was later turned into a large banner. Sigh.
Francesco Francavilla posted two Doctor Who sketches last weekend on his blog based on the latest episodes, "The Rings of Akhaten" [Ep.7.08] and "Cold War" [Ep.7.09]
.
Brett Booth posted a couple character design sketches on his blog last weekend. Check out his Big Barda and Prankster.
Paolo Rivera has drawn Daredevil a bit now. Here's a couple commissions he recently did and posted on his blog.
That's it for this week. Don't forget, me and Mat will be at C2E2 next week. Keep an eye out for us! There might be another Mystery Art Challenge. We'll see if I can round up enough contestants.
