It's C2E2 weekend and one of the coolest things about conventions is walking through Artist Alley and seeing the artists doing commissions and sketches. Many of them post their sketches on their blogs, Tumblrs and Twitter accounts. Doing these sketches gives them the opportunity to draw characters they might normally get to do in their normal assignments. We think they are simply too great to go unnoticed.
Yesterday I got the chance to finally meet Robert Atkins in person. He's a really nice guy besides being talented. He's currently on a mission to post an Avengers sketch each day. Be sure to check out his website to find out how you can get commissions from him. Check out his Hawkeye, Black Panther, Darkhawk, Black Knight and Justice.
Gabriel Hardman is also at C2E2 this weekend. Check out the pics of he posted on his website. He assured me he'd be posting more. Check out his Conan, Green Goblin, Man-Thing, Sandman, The Doctors and Yorick (from Y THE LAST MAN).
Peter Nguyen was busy at his table at C2E2 doing sketches, as always. Check out some of the last set of commissions he did at ECCC he posted on his Tumblr.
I got the chance to briefly talk to Todd Nauck (and his lovely wife) yesterday. Check out this pic of X-23 he posted on his Tumblr. It's actually for a charity auction to benefit the St. Jude's Children Hospital.
Here's one from Terry Dodson I meant to post last week. He posted this sketch of Black Cat from his Deviant Art page (done at ECCC).
Riley Rossmo posted a sketch of Black Widow I also meant to post last week, along with this one of X-Force he posted yesterday on his Twitter.
How about some Francesco Francavilla art? Check out this Aliens pic he posted on his blog as well as this Cap sketch he posted on his Twitter.
Greg Capullo posted some in-progress sketches of Batman on his Twitter that looked really sweet.
Have you been watching Ultimate Spider-Man? Did you know that Paolo Rivera was involved with character designs? Check out these character builds he posted on his blog.
Michael Walsh posted some sweet sketches this week on his Tumblr. Check out his Galactus, Hellboy and Link.
Take a look at these sketches Gene Gonzales posted on his blog.
Agnes Garbowska posted some more commissions she did at ECCC on her Tumblr.
Daniel HDR is always taking commissions. Check the latest he did and posted on his Twitter.
Everyone likes Daphne from Scooby-Doo, right? Take a look at this sketch Marcio Takara posted on his Tumblr.
Seems like each week we keep getting some ADVENTURE TIME sketches. Check out these two from Mike Maihack posted on his Tumblr along with a sketch of Supergirl.
That's it for this week. You can bet we'll see a bunch of sketches from C2E2 next week.
