Are You Ready For Lil' Gotham By Dustin Nguyen?

As if you didn't already have a reason to buy the Batman and Detective Comics annuals.

Boy, DC Comics and Dustin Nguyen really are in a giving mood lately.  First we got to see the really cool cover art to the DC Holiday Special 2009.  Now we get a peak at "Lil' Gotham."  
 
Where can you find Lil' Gotham?  DC will be releasing Batman Annual #27 on October 7 and Detective Comics Annual #11 on October 14.  Both of these annuals will feature stories on the new Azrael and his developing role in the Bat-universe.  They both will also contain two-page shorts on Lil' Gotham by Dustin Nguyen and Derek Fridolfs.  What it comes down to is cute little versions of your favorite Bat-characters.  Need I say more?
 
Batman Annual #27 will have the story "Off Rogue Racing" and Detective Comics Annual #11 will have a story called "Question & Answer."  Here's some art to see what you can look forward to.

Dustin also did prints like this with Batman villains and another with Marvel characters.  He's so cool, he gave both Babs and I a copy.

That is so cute. :3 But one thing that I don't get is that we get the new Question, Batwoman, and the newly formed Sirens. Yet Nightwing, Drake Robin, and Babs Batgirl are there. Come on, do something new and original. Have a Damian chibi punching new inmates, while Red Robin and Batgirl drop Clay face because they're to busy arguing, and have new Batman wheel the oracle through the asylum while they have cartoon hearts in between them.

I think it's just a matter of not worrying about little details (no pun intended) and just enjoy it for what it is.  Like in Mini Marvels, we had stories about Civil War but you also have Clint as Hawkeye, Eddie as Venom and Gwen Stacy is still alive.  We can just pretend we're looking at some funky kid-ified universe.

Aww. its all so cute I'm going in a diabetic coma.  Blasted, much as I want to not like this, I can't help but smile at it all.

 Annie, from TNBA. She was a scout Clayface made, when she got too far, she m anifested her own personality and forgot about being part of Clayface. Tim falls for her, things happen, they find out, she gets reabsorbed into Clayface, Batman and Robin defeat Clayface, and Tim gets all sad. Good episode. A lot better than my crappy summary.
